This will be a tough game, but I'm honestly not afraid of this team. We already have two wins against them this year. It will be tough, but if Lunqvist is on his game, maybe we can exploit Fleury for a couple of early goals and just keep attacking.
I'll be up in the blueseats for this one - section 419. LETS GO RANGERS!
Crosby is pretty pissed that his team couldn't score a single goal on Tuesday. Brodeur shut him and his boys out... so he may have something to prove tonight.
Hopefully Lundqvist will keep up his stellar play and maybe his D will cut him some slack by not scoring on him.
Take these Pens out! (I'm not going to say "Go Rangers" with a straight face... I just cant.)
From a Pens fan, I'd like to wish yins good luck today. Should be a good, tough game. I'm looking forward to it. I dont ever like to predict outcomes of games but I will say this, the Pens got shutout on Tuesday but still played a heck of a hockey game, they just couldnt get past Brodeur and Crosby is just itching to score some goals. He's due to explode and it could happen tonight. Here's to a good game tonight.
I thought they would put Mara with Malik.. oh well.
I would assume they are putting Mara with Rachunek because Rachunek is Righty - and that they are both on the same PP unit together so the shifts line up.
So having:
Tyutin (L) - Girardi (R)
Malik (L) - Rozy (R)
Mara (L) - Rachunek (R)
would situate the defense best as far as facing the other on the forehand.
id love to see Avery and Ruutu go at it. Or Avery and Thorburn. Hollweg an Ruutu. Hollweg and Armstrong. This game could get nasty. Dont they still have Cairns???? Him and Orr would be a good matchup.
Thorburn hasn't played in an eon and Cairns is most likely done for his career (post-concussion syndrome).
Still, plenty of muscle between these teams. Should be a good one.

They gotta play with Desperation. This game means a lot more to us than to the Pens. The Pens are all but garenteed a playoff spot. We're fighting for our lives. They better play like it.
According to Sam he thinks Mara will be on the second PP unit, and while I like him on the PP how much time does the second unit get? Even when it is out there, Jagr seemingly still likes things to be run through him, so I dont know how effective he will be on the PP tonight. I'm kind of disapointed by that because one of his strengths as reported is supposedly his play on the PP. Hopefully i'm wrong.

Defense or offense passing is more accurate on forehand off the boards. Also in offense it is easier to handle the clearing attempts by the boards with forehand. so left shootinD usually plays on left side, righty - on right side. That however impairs shooting esp. one timers. Therefore forwards usually play opposite, i.e. lefty on the right ans righty on the left. There are plenty of exceptions to this rule.

Hardly. Pittsburgh is a mere 4 pts. from being 9th and out. Pittsburgh fans have known disappointment far to much to take anything for granted, especially a tenuous 4 pt. hold with this many games left. I like our position, especially with some games in hand, but we wasted much of that these last 4 games. Do not count on Pittsburgh being complacent or feeling that the playoffs are a given. For almost all the Pens this would be their first playoffs ever and players like Crosby and Malkin will be doing all they can to join the dance for that first time. Will it be enough? We will see. Our defense still blows so I am not counting on anything.
