Q.
What is it?
A.Its a betting system, allowing you to bet, only "vMoney" is involved.
Q.
How do you bet?
A.You place a number in the box to the right of the option you want to bet on, and click the "Place Bet" button beneath the options. If you want your bet to be made private, make sure to click the approperate box
Q:
Can my bet(s) be reversed or negated?
A: Once a bet is placed, it cannot be reversed.
If you bet twice for the same team by mistake, Mods/Admins cannot go in and give the vcash for one of those bets back to you. We simply don't have the ability to do so. Please be cautious when placing your wagers and review your bets before you hit return.
Q.
How to you create a vBookie event?
A. First, you must be a sponser or staff. It is a lot like creating a poll. You create the thread, then you click the "Yes, post a vBookie Event with this thread" under Additional Options. You then select the event, the bettable options, the odds, the time to accept bets till, and the time that you pay out whats owed. Make sure to uncheck the "Same as 'Accept Bets Until' date", or you will get a strange time. Keep in mind that you can only bet on short term events, such as individiual games, series' and other events that apply.
Q.
How does one become a sponsor and eligible to create events?
A.
Become a sponsor
Q.
Why can you only bet on short term events?
A. Because long term bets (such as a "Who will win the Super Bowl" in august) tie up the server, causing massive slowdown.
Q.
How does betting work?
A. vBookie uses straight odds, avoiding point spreads and keeping it simple.
Q.
How do odds work?
A. The numbers next to the teams are the odds. The number in parenthisis is the amount paid out to every dollar. Lets say you placed one "vDollar" on Minnesota. If Minnesota wins the game, you would get the dollar you bet, plus 88 "vCents." They are the favorite team. The favorite is indicated by the "F" next the the odds. Toronto is the underdog, so they have lesser odds of winning the game. If you put one "vDollar" on Toronto, and they won, you would recieve the bet back, plus 1.04 "vDollars" back, because Toronto had worse odds. If the team you bet on doesnt win, you lose all money wagered on that bet.
Q.
Who can settle events?
A. Sponsors and moderators may only edit and settle their own events.
Q.
Can vcash be donated to others?
A. No.
Q.
What happens if I go vbroke?
You can't go vbroke. If you bet it all and lose, you'll find 50 vbucks in your account the next day.
Q.
How do I check the vbookie standings? Where do I stand compared to others?
A.
Vbookie Statistics Page
Q.
Can events include propositions and other unsual occurances? ie. Light The Lamp
A. Yes, but only moderators can create events for which no odds are published. In other words, only moderators of this forum can create events and make up our own odds.
Happy Betting,
-Your Mods.
