I don't like it and I'm surprised there's no Toby. I wanted to see Jacques with Stortini but maybe that's more for entertainment purposes than success. I like the first line how it is but wanted to see Pouliot in the 2nd line centre spot... he's here to stay.

This line-up is exactly what it will take to deliver us to the promised land this year...a top 10 pick.

atleast got one thing right which is uniting sykora with hemsky.. sykora is as useless as petersen when not on the line with hemsky.. the second like looks more like the 4th. thoresen-nedved-pisani
the other 2 lines are decent enough.

Without Stoll and moreau just as gross as the entire season - 1 less guy doesn't change that. On a side note, I was hoping they would PB Torres. I guess 4th line duties are close enough. THis guy continues to baffle. I was hoping the exit of Smyth would spark some effort and production and was excited to see his performance the other night. He was so bad he got benched for about half the game (despite 2 3rd period shifts). Someone or something needs to get through to this guy. When playing well he is very valuable. When playing like he has this year he is HORRIBLE.

that lineup is the way it is only becaus we can't call up the rest of our prospects I'd imagine.

Maybe that's why we didn't trade a guy like Sykora...who the hell was going to fill the spot if we couldn't call up another portion of our AHLers?

On a more serious note, wouldn't he work better with Sykora?

IMO, we should be going with this:

Torres - Horcoff - Pisani
Thoresen - Sykora - Hemsky
Jacques - Pouliot - Lupul
Petersen - Reasoner - Stortini

Toby has been misused at times but he is still a very valuable player but having said that play the heck out of the young guys now. I would much rather see Brodziak come up and play center than Nedved.

I ha a look at the standings and if we stick with this line-up and play with the same emotion as we did on Tuesday, I'm very optimistic we can get to a #7 pick, even if we fluke a few we could very possibly obtain a #8 pick. Here comes Petricky!

Either way dude, that's a pretty gross lineup.

Hopefully Stoll and Moreau get back at some point soon.

I'd like to know what exactly Winchester did to MacT and Klowe to deserve this
Gets no time even when he plays well
Sits for long stretchs when players playing worse are dressed
isnt traded at the dealine like everyone thought he would be
then a glimer of hope by not being traded.......still scratched

That would be nice.

It would also be nice if Mr. Inconsistent (both in scoring, hitting and overall play) Raffi Torres would play like he really means it game in and game out. Man he sure was a give away machine last game but started to play better in the 3rd.

Was it just me or was Sykora looking almost jubilant out there last game, had a huge smile the whole game, was hustling, taking the body. Not sure but I think he was extremely happy he did not get traded. Wonder if he will be back? Might have to take a little pay cut for it to happen.

Am I the only one who thinks Nedved is gonna take this team on his back and get 40 points in the remaining 18 games, leaving all oiler fans asking "smyth who", leading the Oilers into the promised land of the playoffs were we inevitably win the stanely cup...? Anyone......?!?

The *cough* top line should be completely dismantled. In my mind, with the players we have right now:

Torres - Horcoff - Lupul
Sykora - Pouliot - Hemsky
Jacques - Reasoner - Pisani
Thoresen - Nedved - Stortini

That being said, I'm unfortunately hoping that a couple players get Boogarded tonight, forcing the Oilers to have to make emergency callups to Schremp and Nilsson .

Yup, you're the only one, it sounds like you and Towelie were into the same extracuricular activities. And I was one of the guys happy to see Nedved coming here.

Is Peterson really not playing? Is he injured?

So we're just gonna go with only four guys on our power play then?
