Baby Pens vs Crunch GDT

Big game, Pens need to get back on track. Hopefully with Edzo in town, these guys bring their A games and start finishing their chances.

Chiodo in net again. No more Karpa, ever.

I'm glad Karpa is gone. It leaves a spot open for Fata. Karpa had no future w/Pens, WBS or Pitts, let's see what Fata can do.

Karpa was a good influence though, and, as I said when we signed him, as long as he never set foot in Pittsburgh it was a great signing.

He'll definitely be missed in Wilkes-Barre.

Both Patrick and Edzo are there tonight.

Petersen, Armstrong, Simpson, and I forget the defenders will be the starters for the Pens.

My updates might not be as detailed or lengthy, because I might be focusing more on individual players/plays.

Armstrong is in Therrien's good book, I think. He's consistently starting a lot of games.

Armstrong brings the puck in and gets a shot, goalie makes the save. Pens come in offsides I think.

MOB has been reunited, I think, but Syracuse dumps the puck in, Chiodo misplays a pass and Syracuse scores. Oh, joy.

- I'm bagging the whole game updates for the time being. I don't feel like sitting here for two and a half hours and typing. Sorry, guys.

I'll update anything relatively important.

Chiodo is as sharp as a bowling ball tonight. Syracuse score on a 40 foot wrister. 2-zip.

Chiodo lets in a weak, weak goal from practically the blue line on a wrist shot.

Someone call suicide watch for Edzo...

Murley busts into the zone practically past everyone, hauled down, nothing called.

Syracuse gets a 4 minute penalty, I think Lupaschuk got a spearing double-minor.

Syracuse's top ranked PP can virtually blow this game wide open.

Maclean scores on a rocket from the point, 3-0 now. It was on the second penalty.

Maybe Edzo should go to Wheeling.

I've done away this game to be honest with you. I'm tuned in to the Cape Breton- Baie-Comeau game.

4-0. I'm going to see if Edzo is on during the intermission.

Way to show up for Edzo, boys. Maybe Edzo will call up Hussey, who isn't playing in this mess.

Got to feel bad for Edzo. He goes to WBS to see what guys deserve a callup, and they play like this? (well, haven't listened to the game, but it can't be good)

Tough streak for the baby Pens. Maybe they'll pull out a victory tomorrow.

On the positive side of things, this might have been just what they needed to bust out of this slump.

The Pens have a bunch of games in hand on a few teams ahead of them, but they are wasting good chances to rapidly close the gap.

If this past streak had had maybe only 1 or 2 losses, they'd be closer to Philly and the top, now they're drawing closer to Albany. And there were games that they should have won.

Well... WBS lost to Lowell 3-2 in regulation, Armstrong and I think Beech with the goals. Didn't listen to the game, so no report.

Apparently CP said during one of the intermissions that McKenna is out for the season and is getting shoulder surgery. I guess that's one spot that just opened up for sure.

Can anyone say Steve Webb and Colby Armstrong? Because that's my prediction.

Indeed. I'd say Webb mor than Armstrong, as Armstrong actually needs to play, and not 5 minutes a game.

Edit: It makes me wonder how McKenna hurt his shoulder, it couldn't have been on ice, as he never hits..

Maybe some tragic part of his locker room comedy routine went awry, for as you say, he cant have heard it hitting someone. This injury could be a blessing, as perhaps Edzo will realize that McKenna's effect on the team will be the same (comic and amusing locker room presence) be it if he is dressed to play each night nor not!

A couple of bad losses. The Penguins relinquished a 2-0 second period lead and allowed two late 2nd period goals and an early 3rd period goal. Again, they outshot their opponents but again, their offense couldn't finish the job. I'd like to see Nick Boucher start the next game, Chiodo's been down on his game the last couple of outings. Beech and Armstrong scored for Pittsburgh.

I also apologise for no game thread/detailed report, I only listened to the 2nd period. Honestly, I was just too hungover yesterday to sit at my computer for a full 2 1/2 hours typing updates.

With McKenna out, it should be a certainty that Webb or Simpson will get the call.
