is watching the remaining Rangers vs. Islanders games this season, especially with Sean Avery this time around.

Anyone else thinking the same?

I'm looking forward to see how of a draft pic we wind up with. Any Crosbys, malkins or overchkins in the draft this year?
I think theres one more Stahl brother to be had

Draft this year is going to be pretty weak in terms of players.

Yea, Thats what I thought. It figures we will wind up with a real high pick this year and theres nobody there to be had.

I hope Avery adds some life to those games. Rangers Islanders games for the past 2 years have been.....zzzzzzzzzzz..... There arent many true rivalries(none at all imo) in this new NHL. Buffalo and Ottawa are starting a rivalry and hopefully we can start one with the Isles and make it like old time Rangers Islanders games.

There's no TOP player in this Draft. the top 10 could really go in any order. but thats not saying this draft is going to be horrible. Infact its a Deep Draft, and could grab a 3rd rounder that has the potential of any of the 1st rounders.

Also Jared Staal isnt Available until the 2008 Draft. And hasnt really been on par to be considered with Eric, Jared, or Marc at this time in his young Career.

There are some pretty good centers that'll be available. Unfortunately, it looks like Kyle Turris is soaring to the top 5. He's garnering Sakic comparisons right now. Logan Couture is another player who's intrigued me...well-rounded game that could be available when we pick. The centers in this draft or more of the Brad Richards/Patrice Bergeron variety, rather than the Crosby/Malkin ilk.

The Rangers would be in no position to nab one of those players even if they were in the draft. The team's quest for the playoffs has put that kind of draft position out of reach.

Man would I like to see them get their hands on Turris. I've seen him look like he's the goods more then once..

im much more interested in the offseason to be honest. Whether the team stays away from long term contracts (other than a center, we need one badly) and gives LEGITIMATE shots (unlike the embarrassment of a shot given to Dawes) to kids. If that happens, ill be thrilled.

I dont care what happens this year to be honest. Its more important to me that this team develops a continual system from the minors to the pros. thats a huge problem. the Devils execute it to damn near perfection. However the Rangers have a system in the minors that is almost completely different than how the big club plays.

thats another thing im interested in.
