Smyth-Bergeron-Poti

I saw them all out together on the PP, How sad would it be to see this in the boxscore later .....
PPG 7:37, Smyth (Bergeron, Poti)

As I type this Smyth just assisted on the 1st goal.

F--- Smyth. He's gone, he's just another player on another team now.

Believe it or not the Oilers are still a team - and they play tonight. Why is nobody focusing on that?

Why sad? You wish Smyth to do badly? Not sure I caught the point here? Or is it "oh we screwed up so bad look Bergeron and Smyth got points"? As for Poti does anyone honestly care this long after the fact?

I still like Smyth as a player no matter what team he plays for. Hard to follow the Oilers right now with them so far out of it. I will still be watching the Oilers tonight though. Are you telling me you hate the guts of every guy that doesn't wear the Oilers jersey?

Yeah he's major hype right now. hahah. Announcers going buck on him. Crowd going wild. Nice to see... But I guess, it still is bittersweet.

Nice breakout play 2on1 with Sillinger though. I thought he was just gonna blast it past Sanford for his first goal though.

and HAHA and Bergie fanning ont he one-timer. geez.

I personally am rooting against Smyth and the Islanders, hoping that might bring him back in the offseason. Whether you think that is right or wrong, thats how I am looking at it

I am kind of hoping for that too.. Kinda wishing he gets 2 goals and 3 assists in the last 20 games.... But so far that doesn't seem likely

Really? I'd say the odds of Smyth coming back if he won the Cup with the Isles this year would be higher than if they were bounced in the playoffs. A little selfish, but I'd like the Isles to win the Cup so Smyth can come back..

I dunno. He's made it clear that he REALLY wants to win the Cup...If he does that then mission accomplished, right? I could see him coming back if that were to happen.

That was pretty fun, he looked like he wanted to shoot that puck through the end of the rink and then wiff.

I think its weirder to see...

so many ex-Oilers end up on one alternate team down the road ( NYI, Stl, CLB, PHx ) and can't imagine that we still don't have some of em' around today.

They always find a way to bite their former team in the culo though which dually sux.

I'm with those that hope the Islanders suck the rest of the way. NOthing against Ryan, he's still one of my favorite players, but the fact is, we have the Isle's first round pick, and the worse they play, the better that pick gets.

Next year, hey, they can play us in the SC finals and I'll be completely fine with it. With, or without, Smyth.

2-2... All goals scored by ex-Oilers (MAB) OR assisted by ex-Oilers (Smyth, Weight, Woywitka).

P.S 3-2 Blues in OT. 7 points for the ex-Oilers: 1G MAB, 1A Smyth, 2A Weight, 2A Woywitka, 1A Brewer.

I think he has 4 pts, +4 in 5 games on Long Island so far.

Still too early for "I told you so's" but it's great to see the guy thriving in a positive environment.
