I just got home from a Caps game, but I spend most of the game watching the scoreboard to see how the Rangers were doing. Didn't suprise me to see them blow a 2 goal lead just a few minutes into the 3rd.

What I didn't expect was both goals to be shorthanded. I see everyone here complaining about a bad call that cost the Rangers the game. How about allowing two shorthanded goals in the span of two minutes?!

This team should start refusing powerplays. This is ridiculous.

You're doing a pretty good job of it

Thanks for the correction on the Rangers record with Spada reffing. I know last year the Ranger record with him was as bad. I'm suprised more of you don't recall that unsportsmanlike penalty late in the third against Malik Vs the Pens

The Ranger boards almost blew up on that one. After the game some of the Rangers were saying that they couldn't believe how thin skinned he was. Malik said he didn't even curse. Every game since then I always post before the game that he is reffing. I'm glad from now on you guys will be watching this tool like a hawk. He really has made some some incredibe calls since he joined the league in 2001.

Exactly, but that seems to be the least discussed topic around here, which is a very serious one.

You know what really bothers me? Malik getting booed even though that is his 3rd assist in the last 3 games. Malik to me is playing great. Possibly the best defenceman on our team (next to Tyutin, Girardi, Roszival) and let me tell you that isn't sarcasm.

We get a point, Islanders get a point. But isn't it just so crazy how both teams blew a lead? I felt this was a must needed 2 points. Buts its not. With Montreal and Carolina slumping (and the fact the Rangers have two games in hand on them) is not too bad. I will take tonights 1 point for what it's worth. 2 points would have been excellent but can't always win. Rangers played good aside from the 2 shorthanded goals.

Malik only deserved to get booed in the first 15 or so games... Since then the guy has been generally good. Just Rangers fans taking out their frustrations on one guy and it happens to be not so correct this time. A few people boo and the rest just join along.

People in a nutshell. They just boo for the sake of it and they don't even know why.

The reffing aside, a lot of hockey "experts" say that teams that can't hold leads in the third may have conditioning issues. Anybody think that the Ranger coaches don't push this team hard enough in practice and that this team runs out of gas in the third period. At the very least they certainly don't seem to score much in the last period.

Wasn't it his left knee that he blew out in the minors a couple years ago too?

Just got home from the game. We were yelling for the refs to be able to start declining our penalties. We suck. That is all.

By the way, this is a nice city:

MCL sprains and injuries on the ligament plain out sucks. Breaking a leg or so can always be fixed, but knee injuries will always result in a worse knee than before. I pray Tyutin's career won't be short one because of knee problems.

It's more a matter of the secondary referee giving in to protest from the Penguins from the other end of the ice, when there was a referee 2 feet away from the play that did not "miss" the call, as there was no call to be made.

That being said, you're right about the Rangers being a bad team.

yea really... would be a terrible blow for him to have lasting problems from this. i hope it is only minor and he barely misses a game.

So what if the Rangers got nailed on a bad call? They could've killed off the penalty. Or better yet maybe scored a shortie like the Penguins did...twice.

2 shorties to Columbus, two shorties to Pittsburgh. This is a problem.

Bottom Line:

The Hockey Gods are not on our side this year. The puck always bounces the wrong way.

Next time the rangers get a lead in the third period all six of them should just lay one on another across the net for the rest of the game.

Just got back from the game, when did Tyutin get hurt? Horrible game. We had the momentum and ****ed it in the ass again. What was Renney thinking shooting first?

Somehow we would get a goaltender interference call against us.
