Staal should be ready next season. He has size, speed, and good on d. Scoring will come around.
I hear Flyers looking to bring Parent to NHL next year and he is only 19.

I fully expect Staal to play 82 games next year with NYR.

Hes a very good first passer out of his zone, but not much more when it comes to offense. That's how he got most of his points.

He'll be 20 though in 3 weeks. 2 months younger then Staal.

And that really goes back to the scouting report on him from several years ago.

Unfortunatly what happened last year is he put a few more points and people started to get the wrong ideas about him.

Staal will never be inept at moving the puck, but he's not going to be a guy who piles up points either.

The wrong Staal? huh?

If the guy ends up being an extremely good defenseman who can make good first passes out of the zone, then sign me up.

Points don't make a defenseman's value.

No I wouldn't say that.

We don't have a Staal that is going to score, but we have a Staal that is going to shut down the scorers (like he's done to Malkin).

no, we didn't get the wrong Staal, we just don't have enough Staals. It's a shame. Jordan would have ben the exact player that this franchise is missing, but it wasn't ever a possibility.

I was a HUGE Jordan Staal fan but he's become better, faster than I ever would've guessed.

Not to worry, everyone - we'll have more Staals as they hit free agency.

And I don't see how ANYONE could be disappointed with having Marc in the organization given pretty much everything I've ever read about him. He's been the best D in the WJC two years running - shutting down guys like Malkin on a regular basis.

There may be a slight chance if Tyutin can't come back and Pock's play suffers..Either way by next year I would hope to see Staal, Girardi, and Baranka in regular roles on the blueline..perhaps even Pock..
