It ws brought up on the other board but I wanted to start a board for it because it seems intriguing.

Jason Garrison

For

Mike Green

Try to avoid saying he won't wave. Id like to know what people think of the value.

I'd do this. Garrison is a year older but he is actually competant in the defensive zone.

Only thing that worries me is that the Caps transition game isnt exactly stellar and Green can move the puck.

I think it's pretty unanimous that it would work for both. Especially when it helps Washingtons LHD and Vancouver would get a puck moving RHD to pair with Edler

Meh. Garrisson wouldn't waive NTC anyway.

Good trade for both teams, but Garrison wouldn't waive his NTC.

Good fit, good value, bad NTC.

Geez...Lack sees enough rubber already....can you imagine those defensive gaffs?

I would be more that ok with it if it meant we might actually score on the other end once in a while. Canucks have been one of the most boring teams to watch for the last two years. We are in desperate need of a puck mover.

Assuming you can get the NTC waived, i'd do this. I'd still prefer someone younger like Orlov over Green, but Green does have the RH shot and could definitely kickstart our sad sack PP which might be worth it alone.

I'd do it. Why not make a package though?

Garrison + Hansen for Green + Ward

Or Garrison + Higgins for Green + Volpatti.

Ward has 24 goals and 49 points this season, and would lead Canucks in points and tied 1st for goals. No way you move him for Hansen.

Why complicate it unnecessarily?

And why would either team be interested in swapping Ward and Hansen? What's the point?

I think this would be a big win for Vancouver. Really need someone who can move the puck.

I like Garrison, but Green is better.

One of those 50/50 trades , fair trade offer but it's kinda one of those I'm not sure if I will.

I would probably pass, primarily because Green is a UFA after next season and may price himself out of our desired preference. Meanwhile, we have Garrison locked up for another four years. Furthermore, Green has not been the same since his assortment of injuries, while Garrison was stellar a year ago and apparently has played through an injury the majority of this season. At the top of their game, Green is better and absolutely fills a bigger need than Garrison, but I worry if he'll ever play to the top offensive defenseman he once was.

He did it throughout the second half of the last season, ending tied for lead in goals by a D with Subban. It was Oates' coaching that really tied Green's hands this year.

Fair enough. That may change things somewhat, although I cannot see Garrison waiving regardless. Oates really has done a number on the Caps it seems.
