Different body types, but yeah they play a similar style.

If he could be the real deal in 2-3 years like Subban now, we'll have what we were looking for since Pronger. But I know its a long shot.

Was listening to the game on the radio and Bundy said he thinks he's going back for his senior year since he didn't sign today.

I don't think it means anything that he didn't sign today.

if he is used correctly then I wouldn't worry about the size issue.
see Torey Krug.

Me neither. Yes he was on the reserve list but maybe the Flyers just put him on it just to have that potential option just as a you never know type of thing.

The Phantoms still have 5 games left after today so he still has some time to get work in at the pro level.

The Flyers have planes at their disposal, they can fly to him, get a deal done when he's ready, & drop him off where he needs to be in pretty short notice so I don't really put much stock in him leaving Philly with his team.

He was probably on there last year too. They don't have many unsigned prospects worthy of being on such a list.

Yeah I posted on here a while back about how I think Ghost was a long shot to even really be an NHLer because of his size, but someone pointed out a number of other guys his size (or smaller) that are succeeding. Hopefully he follows the trend of the recent rash of undersized d-men.

One thing that all undersized success stories have in common is their hockey IQ and their skating.

Ghost has both of those in spades.

If Ghost goes back for his Senior year, I will be incredibly disappointed. It would be a monumental waste of his time. It would be a definite setback for the Flyers progression.

To me, he could decide to go on a year-long pilgrimage to Transylvania to search for Dracula's castle and it would be just as detrimental to his progression as returning to Union and their weak schedule of low talent opponents. At least he would be less likely to get injured and more likely to become a never aging vampire.

Yeah...I don't want the risk of him not signing with us. He is ready for the AHL. Sign him up!

Until they get him signed this is a possibility that could happen.

I don't see why they can't sign him that way even if decides to go back to school at least he is signed unless he is not ready to commit to the team then I start to worry we may lose a great prospect

Because he's a collegiate athlete. If he signs a pro contract, he loses his amateur status and thus his eligibility.

If he signs a contract he becomes a professional thus losing his amateur status & making him ineligible to play in the NCAA.

Nice. Lots of wide shots though but he has a nice shot overall.

The announcer was worse than Emrick.....

"he was like a windshield wiper"

It's John Buccigross, he's a SportsCenter anchor on ESPN. He's a big hockey guy but announcing hockey games isn't his normal day job as you can tell from watching that video.

If he ends up becoming really good. I will definitely invade other teams boards before the games and ask them, "Are you afraid of Ghosts?"

Be careful. They might come back with the Ghostbusters theme song! "I ain't afraid a no ghost"

I was a lot more skeptical of Gostisbehere than most HF posters, but I'm finally allowing myself to get excited. I love that he's both cerebral and athletic. Junior players can often get away with being one or the other, but the ones that are both turn out to be the most successful. I mean, he has some bad habits like any kid his age, but I don't think it will be long before he adapts and becomes an NHLer.

Bucci is a great ambassador for college hockey, but obviously announcing isn't his forte. I thought the windshield wiper call was great, though

Getting him signed for the rest of this season was meaningless anyway. Only makes sense to celebrate the victory on campus and finish the semester at school. No reason to burn up a year of his ELC this late in the season (10 game rule does not apply at his age). What's more crucial is spending the summer getting ready to turn pro and being signed for training camp 2014.
