The Playoff forum's series thread is about to reach a boiling point before Wednesday. Leafs and Bruins and Sens trolls will be quick to dismiss Montreal, always be on the offensive. Teams that missed the playoffs can't talk smack, and shouldn't. If the Sens claim they beat us last season, ask 'em why they're living in the past. The Leafs talk smack, bring up Phaneuf and Carlyle and Nonis (and... and... and...). Bruins talk smack? Responses can run the gamut: "Embellishment", Makaveli videos, youtube clips of Bostonian fans acting like morons, Thornton diving, videos of the Habs beating the Bruins, Don Cherry, videos of Bobby Orr getting injured, Bill Buckner... whatever you can find.
Tampa fans are relying on their regular season record - the response, I figure, would be to bring up their financial struggles and how we're going to fill their arena because they don't even have 10,000 hockey fans and we have some to spare.
Can we add "using a game of thrones playoff avatar in 2014" to the list of anti-Tampa things?
People should keep coming up with their own talking points but not inundate the debate, let them come back and get some momentum before going on the offensive again. NEVER DEFEND YOUR POINTS, ALWAYS JUST MAKE NEW ONES. (I learned that last one from Karl Rove)
But yes, the Game of Thrones jab is good. Lots of angles there.

Reminds me... PLEASE DO NOT TROLL. The fun in this is to engage in banter and poke fun and tease and twist the truth (like Stamkos' controversial recovery). Just saying inflammatory things will quickly get you (us) banned, infracted and so on. You don't want to lose your avatar, you don't want to get muted before the playoffs are in full swing, you don't want to pegged as a troll.
What Waffledave is doing, for instance, is the right way to go about it. Make them say something silly, then use that against them. If you say anything silly, don't acknowledge or bite, just say something else back. Learn from Karl Rove, a devoted patriot and Habs fan.

Most people here can't read, so you know your rules will go unread.
Far too often people here confuse posting with writing short stories. Most people won't read, there are enough other captive sources out there. I subscribe to the theory of enjoying my sports entertainment reading in a form that is instantaneous and disposable. Those who want to write novels, there are more appropriate mediums than these quarters. To each their own, I guess.
