That means the roster spot is open. That means Toots is on IR. That means it is a serious injury if the put him on IR without doctor evaluation. That means... IT SUUUUCKS.

I would give Baranka away on the spot only to undo Toots injury.

This is terrible news about Fedor. We have our two leading goal scorers and arguably our most solid D Man hurt. Right smack in a playoff push.

He hasn't been put on the IR...yet.

Just because Renney says they're thinking about calling someone up, doesn't mean that Tyutin is on the IR or will be on the IR.

I would like to see Pock play in Tyutin's place. First off, Pock has been very solid when he has played. Second, if we have any intentions of re-signing Pock, this is not the time to sit him AGAIN just to let someone else play. He will not re-sign when he is treated this way.

Malik - Rozsival
Girardi - Mara
Pock - Rachunek

pock and rachunek have been abysmal together. They have terrible communication and never know what to do with the puck in the defensive zone.

I'd give Baranka a chance alongside Rachunek thought to see what he's got. I mean hey, Girardi worked out so why not?

Let pock play up with rozy.. they were good together first time malik was out...

put malik somwhere else.... chances are he's gonna suck no matter who he plays with anyway.

how about pock-girardi combo? rachunek and mara looked good last night and rachunek *GASP* played some effing defence for once. i'd leave that be for the moment.

i figured tyutin would miss some serious time with an mcl strain but this is terrible news, at least he does not need surgery. hopefully he will be able to fully recover with the proper amount of time off.

as for the defensive pairings
rozsival-malik
pock-girardi
rachunek-mara

is what i expect to see

and for calling up a defensemen, we probably won't do something like that and it will come back to bite us, renney and sather have made very lackluster call ups from hartford all year, the only good one being girardi. id be shocked if we called someone up and they were given anytime

i mean isbister? we got callahan, dubinsky, dawes, korpido, etc but isbister, basically ahl fodder is here and he was playing in the final 2 minutes and in overtime yesterday, only the rangers

True. My bad. I had a brain fart. So are we are all thinking if they call someone up its gonna be Baranka? From everything I have read over the last year or 2 on him I would be real excited to see him for a few games, but I also want Pock to get the ice time he hasn't gotten this year. I hope they don't call up Lampman, but if they do, it better be just as a safety net and they make him sit up in the press box

That means he's out for about the rest of the regular season. This is bad news. Pock should get his chances, but a call-up is not out of the question.

And if they do call someone up I think it should be Baranka. They might as well take the opportunity to see what this kid has. Besides, Renney hasn't played Pock consistently all year I can't see him doing it now

Kasparaitis, 34, cleared waivers after appearing in 24 games for the Rangers, and has been in Hartford since Jan. 27. It was his second stint in the minors this season; the first was for the entire month of November for rehab. When he returned, he played 17 consecutive games for the Rangers before being re-assigned again.

The team was en route to Philadelphia and Berlet was going to check on Kaspar's condition later.

WOW If thats true that is just terrible. i knew he wasn't fully healed from his injurys. I really hope he can make it back to the NHL next season. This season is lost for him, he needs to just take it easy & heal up and get strong enough to re-hab.

Seriously Tyutin is the rock on this defense for the most part. He's the player I would trust the most with the game on the line. As other posters have aptly stated.... "THIS SUCKS!!"
