ESPN reporting Burke traded to Philly

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1730027

No other names being mentioned but the other threads around are suggesting Radivocevik & Burke for Comrie & Seidenberg.

On the Vancouver board they said Buccigross said

Burke + Branko for Comrie, Seidenberg PLUS a 3rd

I'll be happier about losing Branko if we are getting Seids and a 3rd as well. We need to stock up on picks like that. Regardless, very well done to Barnett for refusing to accept crap for Burke and serving up humble pie to a fair few posters.

I prefer cautious as well as nothing is official. It is just funny to read all the various threads about Burke right now! :p

Yeah there's a hilarious line from some philly fan raging about getting a "crap goaltender and some guy-whose-name-is-too-long-and-I-cant-spell-it!" lol

Its funny as well how we are now being told Burke in no way, shape or form will have any influence. Its like he's backing up Saint Patrick here, not a injured, inexperienced, former backup goalie! You'd think they'd have learned their lessons about making predictions after telling us it was utterly ridiculous to think Philly might want Burke.

What is strange is that on one side you have got fans of a team which is probably not going to make the playoffs whatever trade and on the other you have got fans of a franchise who is quite well armed for the playoffs and who is getting upgraded by the Burke trade... Guess who is in panic mode?

just caught Nick Kypreos on CTV Sportsnet and he indicated that the deal is not complete and that Phoenix is holding things up trying to extract a bit more value for Burke. Take that for what it is worth.

He's pretty much toast for the season. Out 12 weeks starting on JAN 7th or 8th is what I read.

Thanks. I guess it was on another thread. Lookslike no shot for him to be back, BTW anyone with access to DIRECTV can see Lennie in the AHL skills comp airing now on ch.626 Empire Sports net.

They just had this rapid fire thing where two guys line up about 20 feet or so out and shoot 5 shots each. He stopped 6 out of 10. He also kicked out 6 of 6 in the straight breakaway relay competition and 3 of 3 on this 3 on 0 deal where 3 guys break in alone on the goalie and each guy has to touch the puck once before a shot is taken. Not a bad night for our sole rep. on the ALL STAR TEAM.

Hey all, been reading the boards for awhile now but this is officially my first post. I finally decided it was time to enter the fray.

I don't know much about what went down in Edmonton but I do notice no one is commenting about Comrie's holdout. Was he just getting shafted in Edmonton or is he one of THOSE kind of players? If it's the latter then I don't want him here!!! Unless they have a really strong case, I don't like players who holdout.

i really don't think much of these rumors

burke would cost philly 4.5 mill next if he exercised his option

if any offer similar to the ones mentioned was real mb would have jumped at the chance.

the coyotes might not have to dump salary at this time but the elimination of that big players option contract all but guarantees not much is coming back our way.

if clark or sather are offering a good player or prospect then mickey barnett better not screw this deal up.

Im tending to agree w/ you, seems way too good to be true. Burkes good and has been great for us but his age and contract has to be an issue. if its actually Comrie in the trade, Barnett had better jump all over that and run, if he doesnt hes an idiot. Comrie's still so young and has tons of potential and has proven a lot already at this level.

Welcome I agree with you about not liking holdouts. Although I dont like him as a player either, Comrie is a nice return on Burke even if it comes at the expense of Radivojevic.
