He'll be our 3rd line center next year and a wonderful thing to see this kid grow from playing so well at the U to now being a productive NHLer. Heck of a draft pick boys!

I would honestly love if him and Brodziak switched roles immediately.

I was thinking this on the way into work. I know Yeo can't switch things up in game, after the team did play really well, but holy cow was Brodziak the weak link on that checking line. Goal aside, he was a step slow defensively all night, and he again wasn't using his size like he should have.

Haula was 33% on the draw, only knock against him. Was PPG for the last how many games and then doesn't get a chance to play in the playoffs. Coaching.

But on the other hand it's finally nice to get some offense on that fourth line.

I would like to see Haula play on the third line for a lot of reasons, but one would be that I think he could help Nino's offensive game. Brodziak is anything but a polished passer , while Haula is pretty damn good. Yeo has neutered Nino's offensive game by sticking him with Brodziak. I also think a fourth line with Brodziak would be pretty damn good. Tough as hell, and good ( not great) defensively. I'll take that in a fourth line anytime.

The way Cooke and Nino have been hitting the third line will still be plenty physical. I just think they need to be more of a threat offensively, and an easy way to do it is stick Haula in there.

Brodziak played 20 minutes and was a -3. Haula under 10 min., and a +1.

Now that he is centering that third line it's gonna be interesting to see if he is gonna play 20 minutes. I bet that he wont and Broziak is gonna plays as much as Haula.

Would love to see what Haula and Zucker could do on a line. Their speed could cause some issues. If Zucker can improve his wall play and defensive positioning, I can see those two being really effective together.

I'd settle for 15 min apiece. If Nino can get some more scoring looks it would be great.

If Haula screws up clearing attempts and ends up a -3, i doubt he gets dumped on as much as Brodziak is.

Could be because he's a rookie or because that's been a problem with Brodziak for the last two seasons. Last night was the straw that broke the camel's back.

In my opinion, that doesn't matter. You get the minutes, you'd better produce.

Given that Koivu only averaged 2 more minutes than Brodziak, it wouldn't hurt this team to have their elite defensive center man their shutdown line and be their best defensive center without worrying about scoring.

Granlund
Haula
Koivu
Brodziak

Granlund - 22 minutes
Haula - 15 minutes
Koivu - 20 minutes
Brodziak - 5 minutes

IMO on a good team one center shouldn't play over 20min

Granlund ~18 min
Haula ~15 min
Koivu ~18 min
Broziak ~9 min

When he's playing over 20 minutes, is it because of PP and PK time though? Right now, Koivu is still playing both along with Parise. Also a major reason why Suter can play major minutes is he's out there for essentially the entire PP.

What about Cooke-Haula-Zucker?

I'd think it'd be a riot

Even nastier.

I'm ok with Cooke on the 4th line.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

Erik Haula is the new Wes Walz
