You guys like your chances of getting in??

Buffalo fan here curious about some Habs fans take

great game at HSBC the other night you gave us a good show

I think you'll have a struggle getting in without Huet in the lineup but I could see your Power Play carrying you the rest of the way

It's definitely going to be a struggle, but hopefully with a few breaks, we'll be meeting you guys in the first round. Btw...besides us losing, it was a pretty good show.

If what they say is true, that we need at least 90 to make the playoffs, we have no chance... the way we have been playing we can't win 10 of our last 14

Sabres/Habs games have been exciting, and it would be nice 1st round match up, but Without Huet I think your chances are pretty slim, no offense.

In the last 30 games we are one of the 5 worst teams in league. We are not getting in even if we had Huet.

Chances that we get in are slim right now, and is very bleak. If I was a betting man, I certainly wouldn't put money on the Habs making it in.

The Habs are going to have to win 10 games (or close to it) in the next month to get into the playoffs. They have to do this in only 14 games. They have only won 10 of their last 29 games. I am sceptical of their ability to go from playing like one of the worst teams in the NHL to playing like one of the best. They literally need to be twice as good as they have been for the past two months. All of this without their number one goalie. I personally think the hill is too steep climb, but I will watch and hope they can do it.

I can't believe that we were one of the top 5 teams in the league just about 2 months and a half ago.

And if the Habs win 3 in a row starting Thursday, your opinion will change back to yes

I'll still root for them to get in but this team is a disaster right now.

If the Isles & Thrashers hadn't upgraded, I might've said maybe. But no way we'll catch either of them now. That leaves Carolina, the Leafs, Rangers, and Bruins all around us for #8, and I'll take the Cup champs out of that group any day.

They went from playing like one of the best to one of the worst. It's not possible they start to play like they did earlier this season?

I think your right about one thing, it isn't likely but still, I have faith. They played so well earlier this season it seemed all but guaranteed we would make the playoffs.....

I think if they're smart and they stop playing abby and play mainly Halak, the better he gets we could do it. 10/14 games... seems rough but thing is some of our games are against those very teams trying to win the race. If we can beat those teams in regulation it's like a double whammy. We gain 2, they gain 0. Then if we go on to win other games against unrelated teams, we could do it.

I think the habs, what they really need to do now is what they did in the buffalo game. Focus their energy towards the harder or more important teams to beat. No **** they lost against boston, guess what? They played their ***** off the night before the boston game. It's sad because in the buffalo I saw the habs that I saw at the start of the season playing... a team that could finish plays. The Boston game you could visibly see they were tired from the get go. They overexerted themselves against buffalo. They were speed demons vs buffalo. I think if they just play their "cards" right, and use a little bit more strategy, they could make it in the playoffs.

I also think that we're one of the few teams that even stands a chance versus Buffalo. (don't ask why, I just find our team excels more against harder teams)

While it certainly is still possible, it is an uphill battle for sure. We are very close to a spot, but also very close to a top 9 pick in next years draft.

The only way we make the post season is if we go 10-4 in our last 14 games. Anything less and we are on the outside looking in. So, unless this team has a 180 degree turn, I find it very unlikely that we make it. That being said, if we could find a way to squeek in, look out cause we could make a lot of noise.

Go Habs Go

exactly the same thing with me...my heart is saying they can do it they will win 11 of 14 and make it but then the brain says they are going to be lucky to be .500 which likely won't get them in.
