Anyone else notice Girardi throwing a few nice hipchecks lately?

Gotta wonder if that's Tyutin and Kasper rubbing off on him.

Would LOVE to have both him and Tyutin throwing absolutely lethal hip checks every time they are on the ice.

LET'S GO RANGERS!

2006-07 SEASON SERIES:
Islanders, 4-0-0

LAST MEETING:
Jan. 9, 2007: Islanders 5, Rangers 3
@ Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers came into the game with four straight wins. The Islanders came in with six straight losses.
Everything seemed to be in the Blueshirts' favor at The Garden, but by the evening's end, it was the visitors who were celebrating.
The Isles broke a 3-3 tie with two goals in a 27-second span of the final period and held on for a 5-3 win.

The Rangers have lost all 4 meetings this season against their state rivals and are looking to reverse
their fortunes in their final meeting of the season between the two on Garden ice.
On Thursday they'll faceoff again on the Island. Huge points on the line.

A sweep by the Rangers would leave them only 2 points behind the Isles,
but a sweep by the Islanders would separate them by 10 points...

Man, I've been stuck in Phoenix with loser Gretz. and his clown puppet loser, salary dumper, GM Mike Barnett. I miss class hockey.

Holy **** I'm on edge for this game. I was at Shop-Rite earlier and all I wanted to do was hipcheck cranky moms into soup displays. This is dangerous! I just want it to start already. Biggest, most important Ranger/Isles game I can remember. I'd be lying if I said I was anywhere near confident though. Isles have been playing awesome lately and Rangers have been so-so. No Straka, Shanny and Tyutin doesn't help either.

That said, I'll accept nothing less that a 4 goal Ranger win

Larry Brooks is theman!!! great read and oh so true. But we won't do a thing other then dress Orr and Hollweg and still get bumped all over the ice. Simon Blake and Robitile are on fire we need to stop them frst and take care of the power play and we win, No PP and we are done

Tonight's game is available on TVU and maybe Sopcast.
Check out myp2p.eu or rojadirecta.com for links.
You will have to download a program to view the game.

The Yahoo feed is usually not available in the home market.
And we lose out on 2 counts.
Internet savvy people can figure out a way around this. Not me.

A VS game is not and MSG game so no Rangers in 60. And I have never seen a VS game replay.

I will watch the game on my PC at work. Shhhh......

Brooks pretty much copied what Rodent said the day before in his article:

http://hockeyrodent.com/R1753.HTM

That being said, Ro' is very negative about making the playoffs at this point. According to his Berth'O'Meter however, here are the statistical chances to make it.

PLAYOFF CHANCES
EASTERN CONFERENCE
Through Sunday Evening
89.1% Tampa Bay Lightning
89.1% Atlanta Thrashers
81.2% New York Islanders
33.5% Toronto Maple Leafs
32.9% Carolina Hurricanes
25.6% Boston Bruins
25.5% New York Rangers
24.1% Montreal Canadiens

To me, a 4-in-1 shot is pretty good considering 5 teams are jockeying for the final spot. And if the Rangers start winning against the sticks, I'm sure that will bring the Islanders chances down big time.

Whatever. Everyones already pretty much written off the Rangers. Too many one goal losses, blown leads and now with three key guys injured...oh boy

The pressure is on the Isles. Not just to win this game but to go far into the playoffs, because watching Ryan Smyth walk away this summer is REALLY going to sting.

I stayed home from school today because I woke up this morning and threw up. I have this weird stomach virus Im assuming where I can only stay up for 30 minutes before I get so tired I need to hit the sack for a few minutes.

I hope the Rangers dont dissappoint tonight, and hopefully I have the energy to stay up for most of the periods and sleep during the intermissions.

LETS GO RANGERS!

Simon is no longer on that line now that we got Smyth. It's Robitaille, Smyth and Blake. That line pretty much has dominated most of their shifts on the ice in the two games since Smyth has been here. Thursday it will likely be Yashin, Smyth and Blake.

There should be some very interesting hockey going on in this game with plenty of mind games. You just know Avery will be jawing at DP, trying to draw a penalty and he'll try to draw in Witt also give their past history. Witt and Avery are both experts at drawing penalties though more than taking them. The most important thing for the Isles is to protect DP. The most important thing for the Rangers is to protect Jagr. Should be interesting to say the least on who wins the mind games. Hopefully it stays clean regardless with no unnecessary injuries as a result of frustration.

When it comes to Isles/Rangers matches I've learned that you can pretty much throw out a few dynamics. EX/ Which team has more injuries, who is on a hot streak, who is in playoff contention blah blah blah. One just can never know and as an Isles fan I'm never confident playing the Rangers b/c of that stated fact.

That said, I see a split, 2-2.

One thing is for sure, those will be 4 highly contested and entertaining games. Glad that the rivalry is getting some advertisement via Versus.

I see us winning 3 of the final 4 games while the Isles still win the season series.

Let's Go Rangers !

So exited about this game. Hope Henrik finaly can beat the Isles..

I predict 4-1 to Rangers. Goals from JJ 2, Hossa and Avery. Mara with 2 assist.

Just win.

It's time to finally win against these punks! There is no way the Islanders can sweep the four meetings at MSG. No way!

The time is now. Period. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!

By the way, BelovedIsles, even though I cannot stand your team, you have a nice photo in your avatar.

eh... i have Versus, but like others have said i have to settle for SD. And that SUCKS when you have HDTV. I don't mean to be spoiled... well ok, maybe i do , but i can't help it.

That said, I'd much rather see the remaining 4 games vs. the Isles go 4-0 in our favor
