Most of all though we just need Emery out of that net. We could play a 1-1 game with Mason in net, but Emery lost the game for us tonight. One goal should be enough to atleast get to OT in the playoffs. 10 GA in 3 games is too many, and wayyy too many of those were on Emery.
No disagreement there.

Torts would be a perfect match for the d-men. They're all lumbering shotblockers basically.

Unfortunately, I don't think it'd be a winning team.

It's not going to happen.
I don't see anyone defending Read, he's been terrible. I would argue that Couturier (and Voracek) have been the best two players through these three games. BSchenn is (or was) the 2C, centers the 2nd PP unit, and has been nothing short of abysmal so far...and that's with his sheltered minutes.

Can't argue about the lackluster PP or the brutal ES play.

Wayne "Hands of stone" Simmonds is a regular season player if I've ever seen one. When the play tightens in the playoffs, Simmonds' offense goes bye bye and he turns into a typical 4th line goon.

Another thing I noticed is our inability to create 2nd opportunities. The Rangers are a well oiled machine in getting the puck out in 1 pass, VERY QUICKLY. We suffer greatly in this regard because if we could just get that 2nd chance on an offensive zone possession, it can get the Rangers D out of place, creating better chances. It is so hard for us to keep that puck in for a 2nd chance. That needs to change asap.

Emery 12 saves on 16 shots even strength. Henrik had 27 of 28.

They're not letting him see any light. They're putting their 100% on him and it's working.
Match that with the fact that our depth isn't producing, not gonna bode well for the Flyguys.

A lot of people were saying if the Flyers secondary scoring didn't show up, we were gonna lose. Can't say I disagree at this point.

+L. Schenn
-Everyone else

Schenn is getting way too much hate. Both him and Read have been terrible for a while yet Read is only just getting noticed now, while Schenn is getting flak for very little, besides playing just as bad as other players on the team. Hartnell, Vinny, Kimmo, and Grossmann were all way worse then Schenn tonight. At least Brayden tried. Hartnell looks like he's ascended into a euphoric state.

Also anyone complaining about Rinaldo needs to be quiet. He hasn't done anything wrong this series where as certain players play like ECHLers and are given a free pass. Mason in net for game 4 please.

Berube and Giroux need to stop dicking around

/rant

If this team loses next game they should be sent to the Planet of the Apes.

Yeah, it was my biggest concern coming in. Couturier was gonna be too busy with shutting down their top line, and Read had been invisible for a while coming into playoffs. NYR's very good D was gonna focus on our top line. This is where Lecav, Schenn, and Simmonds needed to step up...because the 4th line is useless. They haven't. They've done nothing to relieve pressure on other lines and give them a chance. I've been saying it since matchups were determined.

I'm glad not doing anything wrong is the bar here. Rinaldo is a useless hockey player straight up

Couturier really deserves to be placed on the 2nd line but it's a shame that the Flyers moving him away from where he is creates a huge hole on the 3rd line.

Very mismanaged personnel.

Exactly, that's why I'm not sure why people keep giving Emery credit for playing "solid" or being the "hot goalie". He kept us in it to win game 2, and that was great, but we only had to come back in the first place because of him and the team played fantastic defense once we got the lead. His slowness killed us on the PK in game 1 when it was 1-1.

Emery has been the biggest problem on the team so far this series. He got bailed out in game 2, lost game 3 on his own and was a big part of losing game 1 because he can't hang on during the PK. Can't believe Berube started him over Mason, the Rangers have been exploiting Emery the entire series.

13:51 for Jake

Best player in the series is 9th in ice time among forwards. That says it all
