1. Tied at 2nd in the Conference in Defense (GA/G - 2.74)
2. 3rd in the Conference on Power Play, 6th in the NHL.
3. 6th in the Conference on the PK
4. 4th in the Conference in Shots Per Game
5. 2nd in the Conference in Shots Against

Lundqvist Is:
1. 6th in the Conference in Save%
2. 3rd in the Conference in GAA
Top 3 Goalie #'s in the NHL since All-Star break.
They sound like a Top 8 Eastern Conference team to me.
Well put it this way. I'd rather have a terrible beginning of the season and finish strong in 7th or 8th place than be in first all season long and then fall apart for the last 2 months of the season and finish in 6th place.

really, if you take away the putrid start of their season and make them play like they are now AND take away that 7 game losing streak and make it something like a winless streak of 7 with 2 or 3 otl, wed be challenging for the division lead.
still, if my aunt had...err u know where im going with this...
well, i adjust it after every rangers game. the closer to the end of the season we get, the more accurate it gets.
next year im going to automate it. this year, im doing it by hand.
If you want I already have this on an Excel spreadsheet. Very basic stuff linked to Sportsnet.ca's website....all you have to do is refresh the worksheet. Shoot me an email or PM.

pm sent, but im really going to have to automate a script to pull the stats and do those calculations for the blog. i simply dont have the time to do that at the moment, its easier to just pull the info real quick and post it on the blog. if anyone would care to write the script for me id be happy to give them a shout out, just no friggin time!
I hope we go 2-0-14 and make the playoffs just to piss everyone off.

PM sent, took a while to remember the password and I created it last week...proof that beer is good for you...
If anyone else wants it send a PM its all family here. Its pretty basic stuff, anyone can do it, it projects every team's points based on current season pace and it calculates the record needed for non playoff teams to reach the 8th seed.
I could see them going like 8-8 the rest of the way...or whatever, and missing the dance by about 1 or 2 points. Or by tie breaker. Ugh, that would be brutal. But I expect it.

ok,so we are 9-6-3 after the All-Star Break and all of a sudden we take a nose dive to 8-8? Why?
Because we are playing our best hockey now, which we are? that would only help us...
Because we are winning the close games? again, can only help us...
Because we are winning despite injuries? again, can only help us...
just if you are going to be negative and make up these 8-8 records, at least have a good reason for it.

wouldn't piss me off, we play you guys 3 more times, i am all for 3 OT wins for us, i could even settle for a loss and 2 OT wins
As for the playoffs i figure 92 is the goal of any team wanting to make the playoffs(give or take 2 points). Some team is bound to get hot and some team in the top 7 could also go on a cold streak.

How is going 8-8 a nose dive from 9-6? This is why no one in the league can stand Ranger fans. Your team constantly underachieves but you all talk like you are going to pound on teams when it counts. You took 57 shots last night and scored once!

It's a nose dive because we have won 3 of our last 4 games, and the only game we didnt win there was a shootout loss. So that is 7 points out of a possible 8 points. Going 8-8 would mean getting just 4 points out of every 8 points.
I just dont see this team going .500 after how well they have played of late. They all know the importance of making the playoffs and they will go above .500 for sure.

Well anything could happen. If Hilbert scored that goal, we'd all be in tears right now.
