I wonder in whos eyes he is falling?

I just got a hunch that allot of teams would like him to fall...

I saw him a ton in the WJC, and its after that he started to fall. He took three minors in one game, like one accidental highstick, and two typical crackdown picks were his stick just touched another player around the waist. And right away the talk about him beeing unimpressive started. While in reality he played pretty darn well for a 17 y/o in a WJC.

My guess is that allot of scouts got a interest in telling people Gagner aren't that impressive, and it won't take much for the know-it-all crew at THN to pick up the slightest negative talk about someone and forward it.

On draft day I would be really suprised if Gagner dropped out of the top 6, I personally think its unlikely. But I also haven't seen even half of the supposed top 15. But I've seen Gagner, and in a draft thats supposed to be very weak upfront, its strange if a kid with his talent dropps far.

There's also a lot of concerns about defense and paying the price as well and whether he works hard enough to take the next step or whether he's just relying on pure talent.

The million dollar question is does he turn it around like a Wolski or does he not get it like a Daigle.

Damn, Esposito's one of those guys that could go either way. If the Rangers feel they can absorb his type of personality and take a shot on his talent ALA Schremp they may well go for him. At the time Schremp was available NYR did not have as much a "character" prospect pool as they do now. IMO I pass and try to churn out legitimate pro's regardless of low end ceilings.

My personal favorite if we end up high teens and make the playoffs is Dana Tyrell. Others to watch are Oscar Moller, Stefan Legein, and Brett MacLean.

Again, I'm hoping they trade up to get Voracek. And I'd trade some of our good/decent prospects to get him.

im really curious to see if the rangers pull someone like prucha or lundqvist late out of their hat, someone we never even heard off and is playing caveman hockey hidden from all the big time worldhockey buzz.

I got burned on Wolski, but at the same I think 90% of the time a kid who shows what he did usually doesn't make it. 10% of the time they do, but when the situation comes up I still probably default to the 90% odds they don't.

A guy from McKeen's who posts as Turnbuckle has some intersting things to say about Esposito. Taken at face value it might explain why Espo's stock as been dropping. Take a looka at the thread page. I believe post #82 is the one that gives the insight on Espo.

I know Rockström have spent some time in Denmark...

He is in Canal+'s NHL studio from time to time here in Sweden, after a game were our 1st line were great, but Prucha-Cullen-Shanahan really struggled, and there were allot of talk that we didn't have a 2nd line center, Rockström said something like "now I am off to Denmark to scout the future 2nd line center for NYR, they got some kids that looks really good".

I'd say anyone selected out of denmark would qualify as a darkhorse pick.

This week might be a bit of a rush, but I'm going to try my best to compile some things for our first two prospects this weekend. Both features should be up on Sunday.

I'm also happy to announce that one or two influential and well-spoken forum posters have agreed to help out with the thread.

I still like Tanguay, but his stock seems to be slipping a bit. I felt a similar way about Hilier.

Initial reaction is Sutter too low, Plante and Aliu too high.

I'll update the one at the top. I had been planning to start the features with the players at the top of the list, but if you guys have any requests we can probably get to them first.

Pat Kane is listed 5'9" 160# how is he ranked #1? No way he gets picked in top 5 with that physique.
