Good overtime period by both teams. Tons of effort. Neither team is giving up. Shoot out it is.

And Detroit takes the lead in the Central. They have a game in hand.

Nice choke job by Vokoun and Erat in the shootout.

We honestly didn't deserve a single point tonight, much less two. Kudos to the team for not getting blown out and stealing one point.

Heres to Kariya, Arnott, Zidlicky (well he can stay injured) and Nichol all being okay.

Ah well i will definitely take that point.

serious question. can you replace vokoun in the shootout or do you have to replace a goalie in regulation or ot?

Vokoun...

Have not seen a lot of him, but in watching tonight - does he react slowly to the initial deke/feint? It seems as if he reacts kinda slowly

That doesn't matter. They could lose it and not get any, we are leading the Central any way you put it.

I think that'd be ugly. Mason coming in without facing a single shot since warmups....

I think he starts out too far. His momentum is carrying him backwards and he just looks clumsy skating backwards.

Right now they aren't in first, but they pretty much are unless they somehow blow it. They've played one less game then us, so if you count that win they're ahead. I know, I know, they could lose it...

In the official standings, we are in first. if you've played 82 games and have 1 point, and a team has played 0 games and has 0 points, you're still ahead of them.

Preds are in 1st place. No credit for anything that hasn't yet happened.

Win percentage is more important than total points, so you are right.

I don't think he's hurt. He played again after getting nailed by Hammer was it? Hey, he had a sweet totally predictable goal in the shootout!

I don't understand why they looked so tired and out of gas, I mean it's not like this is the tail end of a West Coast road trip where they played a couple games against 3 of the top 4 teams having to go into overtime in 3 of those, and having 5 of the top 9 players injured during the trip, I mean this sucks, we only got 8 of 10 points out of this 5 game road trip.
