Inconsistent top six forward, injured, almost a PPG player, hadn't developed yet, lol, scrub at the time who only became a third liner, who?, sucked.

Legwand is far less talented in relation to his teammates in Detroit, even with half of the Wings skill guys out.

Poille being a terrible talent evaluator who lost each and all of his "go for it" trades in spectacular fashion is a far bigger problem with that team. Trotz probably lost the room, but DP is so ****ing bad and I thought his abysmal Olympic team selections would've solidified that.

Bit of both. I'm 23 and a half, but have most of my DPE down. Just apparently not a guy who split his last relevant years between Phoenix and Nashville.

Also, the guy I quoted is really blaming Trotz for a dude scoring at 60 point paces at the height of the clutch and grab?

Not only did I love watching Cliff Ronning in St. Louis and especially Vancouver, I still play him on NHL '94 to this day. He was as fast in real life as he is on the game.

Yes...I said I still play NHL '94, and I play it on Sega Genesis. Some will laugh, but others who know will be secretly jealous.

Never disputed Trotz was a good coach, consistently in the playoffs. Just don't think there was a lack of offense at his disposal had he chosen to use them better. After fifteen years you can't say it was the players, Trotz wasn't know for an exciting, high scoring system, he was known for goaltending and defense.

@Proteautype: John Tortorella says he wasn't hard enough on his players this year. Memo to the 2014-15 Canucks: Always walk with a buddy.

He gets credit for being one to take blame. Nonsense. It's Always indirectly someone else's fault...

He says he wasn't hard enough on his players... What he means to say is "I wasn't hard enough on my guys because you told me to ease up and change before this year..."

He actually thinks his method works and it's not that he's just a bad coach now.

Sad.

Sources say Paul Maurice has agreed to a multi-year extension as head coach of the Winnipeg Jets. #TSN

Probably a smart move by the team, but i think the jets will still struggle to make the playoffs next year. Looks like they went 18-12-5 in his 35 games as coach. That's still just on the wrong side of inconsistent.

Thank you. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers him being a VERY good(not elite) player.

That's not the point.

You can have two guys preaching the same concept or philosophy, but based on deliverance, get totally different results from their team.

He has been told to change his delivery to become a more tolerated coach by his players, but in his own mind, those who tell him that are wrong and he's right. He chooses not to accept the valid and necessary critiques.

For not inviting him as the 3rd goalie???

Bishop spit the bit big time last time he donned a USA jersey. Can't blame Team USA for choosing a guy like Howard.

Why shouldn't he have been there as the 3rd goalie when he was clearly at worst the third-best USA goalie? He deserved to have that experience, and frankly deserved to fight for the #1 job, not that it was ever gonna happen.
