Netminders: Mason and Kiprusoff Flames injuries: D Richie Regehr (concussion) and RW Darren McCarty (sports hernia) are out. Predators injuries: D Marek Zidlicky (upper body injury), F Scott Hartnell (foot) and C Scott Nichol (thumb) are out; C Peter Forsberg (upper body injury) and F Steve Sullivan (back) are doubtful.
We have quite a streak going against these guys, but we'll need a whole game like we played the second half of the third period against Detroit to do it. The other 2 and a half periods won't cut it.
irish you said to say anything if we say anything that should be fixed in the GDT when you slipped over to our board... our scoring leaders are flames not red wings ... but the flames leaders are
Iginla - 31 goals
Tanguay - 48 assists
Iginla - 76 points
Regehr - +27
Giordano - 1 OT goal
Primeau - 91 PIM (16 in 11 games since be acquired)
Langkow - 202 shots

and good luck thursday fellas
thanks. i had put those up for the flames leaders and posted it but i guess it didn't take. i had to re-do many things(almost totally duplicating the original GDT for some strange reason), but i guess that one slipped past me. made a similar slip-up on the ducks GDT regarding injuries and someone got really excited. will update.

Another quick correction on the GDT, the flames only have 81 points and 36 wins, the stats shown there are most likely for the wings. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if the flames had 91 points

Looking forward to the game, should be a dandy
yet another do-over. wonder why these things are not taking. o well thanks anyways. will update.
Regardless of injuries this game should be a fairly decent test of the Preds ability to play with/against the 100% Defense First teams like Vancouver, Calgary and Minnesota going into the playoffs.
I'm almost thinking that Tootoo should be moved to the fourth line (something I know the coaching staff won't do) to create what has worked out to be one of the best energy lines in the league previously (Hordichuk - Smithson - Tootoo) and move Abid (who I personally have never liked) to his more natural role on the third line where he could possibly benefit from playing in more of a scoring role.
I simply think with Abid on the fourth line it nullifies any potential offense he might bring to the table (yes, he is here for his offensive ability, certainly not phyiscal play or his two-way game) because he is stuck with two grinders who have no offensive abilities and cannot properly support him. Play him in a more natural role or send him back to Milwaukee...playing on the fourth line is simply a job he is not cut out for and really doesn't benefit the club.
I have been impressed with Peverley's play in the past two games and really think he is giving it his all to make a positive impression for however long his stay lasts up here before he is returned to the AHL. He is fighting for a roster spot for next season already and that is a great thing for this team right now because we have a player who is not content with their position on the team and whom everyone knows is going to go the extra mile to contribute to this team. I really think he is going to be a player to watch tonight while he is getting ice time with the third line and believe if he is not saddled with two offensively challenged linemates (Fiddler and Tootoo) that he can contribute on the scoresheet. I would personally like to see him paired with Abid. Again, I'm not sure Abid is ready for third line minutes and I'm well aware of Tootoo's scoring prowess during his junior days and last season in the AHL, but I am not convinced he is able to score at this level regularly yet.
Wondering if anyone more familiar with Milwaukee can tell me if Abid and Peverley played on the same line or whether they were separated while playing for the Ads?
Really this game is going to come down to how effective our top two lines can be offensively. I also believe special teams is going to play a key role in determining the outcome of this game and lastly I think getting out to an early lead is a key factor in this game due to Calgary's ability to play shutdown defense and our inability thus far to break the trap.
This game scares me a bit. The Flamers are gettin' hot and Iginla+Huselius are both on fire. We know what their defense is made of, and Kippur can steal a game. We will definitely have to be on point tonight. Here's to Peverley's break out game

You should take a look at who is #2 for Goals For/Game in the Western Conference behind the Preds.... you might be in for a surprise
That said, today should be a good game. We (I'm a Calgary fan..) are starting to show signs of finally coming around. That said, the road Calgary Flames are generally a terrible terrible team. Add in the fact that you guys OWN us (we haven't won in Nashville in something like 5 years now) and I'm not holding out much hope.
At least it seems we may have caught a break with Forsberg out (The thought of a healthy Forsberg added to your lineup come playoff time is very, very scary. Can you say cup favorites?)

Never said they didnt score, but they score off the rush once they squeeze the life out of opposing offenses

Good Luck to you as well
Heres to the Preds not going to a shootout again
i wish we squeezed the life out of offenses... most of our goals are created from a good forecheck at even strength, a bomb or a pretty play of the half-boards... kipper may steal the spotlight from the opposing forwards but we get trapped in our end way too often to squeeze the life out of anyone
