Blockbuster Trade, Need Advice

Well, this is in a keeper league and my team is pretty much trash. The best youth I've got is Denis and Richards. Other than that, I have a few decent players and some good old ones who don't do me any good.

I trade: Dumont, Rolston, Conroy, Morris
I get: Samsonov, Calder, Kolnik, Primeau (Wayne)

I don't think it's really that bad. A little bit risky, but not too bad. It's kind of worth it for the variety it gets me in return.

Really, my team can't get any worse.

Samsonov is good return but you give up alot to get him. Morris, Dumont and Rolston are all relatively young, talented players. Calder and Samsonov are good but I`d keep the first 3. The way I see it you give up 4 very solid players and receive 1 injury prone star and a potential star in Calder. Don`t do it. If your team is so bad trade for picks and prospects.

It's a Yahoo League, so we don't have picks or prospects (except NHLers)

Personally I think it's overpayment for Samsonov... I'd hold on to the guys you had.

Yeah, that deal is pretty bad. I was just coming to ask about another.

I trade: Rolston and Morris
I get: Samsonov and Calder

I think that's a little better.

I like that one much more, but If your D is already weak then i wouldn't move Morris. He is a surefire 40+PT Dman every year, and Dmen are tough to come by, especially really good ones.

The current deal is Dumont/Rolston for Samsonov/Calder. I think it's slight overpayment and have been trying anything to work Dumont out. Does this make it any better?:

Dumont/Rolston/Conroy for Samsonov/Calder/Reinprecht

I think it evens it out slightly, but I'm still going to try to play hardball. Samsonov is a big risk/reward fantasy player...

I like that deal with the addition of Reinprecht, I'd take it.

Thanks guys. Rolston is a solid contributer, in the prime of his career, but I think I need to take some type of risk to make it to the top quicker.

Ugh, no Conroy/Reinprecht addition, he won't go for it.

Back to Samsonov/Calder for Rolston/Dumont. Ugh. any advice here? Play hardball?
