Pathetic. He didn't even attempt to drop pass the puck, or toe drag it around the net. He has no place on this team.

Anybody watching the Barons game tonight catch Miller's dancing in the penalty box? That was hilarious.

Too bad. Such a dogfight to get into the playoffs, then to go out in 3.

The team battled injuries and an insane amount of roster changes this year. They should be proud that they got there IMO. Nelson deserves big praise for this.

They deserved better than to be swept in 3 but it was 2 overtime losses and this game was a 1 goal game + empty netter. So basically they were right it there with the #1 team in the AHL.

Nothing to be ashamed of and like others have said... quite an achievement to make the playoffs with the chopping and changing all season. Mid-season I thought they would be a near basement team by the finish of the season... surprised me that they hung in there and made the playoffs.

Nelson and the team deserve credit for being a solid, competitive team down the stretch.

Ok guys with Moroz, Khraira (maybe) and Yakimov on next year's line-up what are your predictions:

Horak- Lander - Pitlick/???
C.Hamilton - Yakimov - A.Miller
Moroz - Ewanyk - Holmberg
Winquist - Combs - Fyten

Or

Horak - Yakimov - Pitlick
Moroz - Khraira - Holmberg/Miller
Hamilton - Ewanyk - Miller/Holmberg
Winquist - Combs/Strech - Fyten

Pitlick and Lander should be pushing to make the Oilers in training camp IMO for 14/15.

Lander, for sure. Pitlick depends, but I hope both get re-signed.

Agreed. Lander should be nearly a lock, but Pitlick would be a longshot IMO.

One hopes Lander is nearly a lock. But his AHL to NHL production this year is astoundingly different.

Over PPG in the AHL. 1 point in 27 games in the NHL. For once why can't we have a guy work out like they seem to in Detroit?

Aren't we due for Lander to be our Nyqvist or Tatar next year?

Maybe our Sheahan haha.

Lander needs to develop more of a killer instinct. But I think hell be on the NHL team next season

He can be our Marcus Kruger.

I'm not at all concerned about his offensive production. He was getting his chances early and nothing was going in for him. He almost had a few goals and probably would've ended up with some points if a few bounces went the other way.

Besides, I'd be looking at him as the 4C. He definitely doesn't need a tonne of minutes in the AHL or time to adjust to the NA game. He's a good pro, and just needs to face NHL competition, even if it's from the 4th line.

One thing to consider is that Nyquist is 24. Lander is still 22 or just turned 23.

Lander will likely be our Hartikainen/Omark/Rajala and head back overseas for a career in Europe.

We rush players, Detroit doesn't.

Lander, alas, does not have enough speed and skill to be a scoring threat in the NHL. But there is no reason he can't turn into a poor man's Pahlsson a few years down the road. That's nothing to scoff at. IMHO, they should make it clear to him that an NHL spot next year is his to lose. Play him as 4th line centre or 3rd line winger with a lot of PK time. Develop his defensive game in the NHL.

does Pitlick show any offensive potential in the AHL? In the limited games he's had as an Oiler, he seems like an offensive black hole.

Hey guys, Leaf fan in peace.

What was the biggest issue with Colton Teubert? The guy had so much potential and he's just disappeared to the German league. I remember seeing him at a Barons-Marlies game last year and he obviously stood out.

Thanks.
