Some words or expressions that only Galivan would use.

'He moves the puck 'rather gingerly' out of his zone'
'A canonading drive'
'The puck's caught up in his paraphenalia'
'A spin o rama'
when used by other players it was them doing a 'Savardian spin o rama'
'a meeting of the clans'
'Berenson 'rags' the puck'

No one used language like Galivan did.

Kinda like... Bounces didn't go our way tonight/They got all the bounces.

Gotta play simple hockey, give 110%, create turnovers, make them pay for their mistakes and bury our chances.

Some of the things i really heard on TV and radio:

'We would have won tonight if only the other team had scored less goals.'

'We just have to go after the puck and grind in the corners and we'll have scoring chances'

'We just didnt show up tonight.'

'The opposing goalie was hot tonight! He could really see the puck.'

'We had a bad game in our system and it came out tonight'

'We would have won if you count those 3 shots on the posts as goals'

'If we work as a team we'll win this one, but we lost it as a team.'

'Some nights even your best doesnt win you a game.'

'A lot of our players were playing with minor injuries...'

'They were just much more prepared for the game then we were.'

'The other goalie kept the opposing team in the game right up until that moment when he won by shutout...'

(...this last one's mine; i just made it up off the top of my big fat head.)

"got to take it one game at a time" and "gotta give a 110%" are painfull to hear over and over.

With Yvon Pedneault there's the : "Le Canadien ne compétitione pas."

And is it just me or with Pierre Houde every point shot is deflected?

He always says that the shot is deflected, deflected, deflected in the stands, deflected on the bench....

And Yvon Pedneault : "Un bon manieur de bâton"

What's a stick handler?

Here's another old school one...

"If you can't beat 'em in the alley, you can't beat 'em on the ice." Conn Smythe
