Avs - Phx

As an Avs fan, we need some proper, quality defensemen so would this be fair or make sense?

Ryan O'Reilly
2014 1st round pick
Stefan Elliot

Oliver-Ekman-Larson

Phoenix would want MacKinnon or Duchene at least.

Nope.

Gonna take a stab at how this one will go:
Some Coyotes fan will counter with Yandle for ROR.

Avs come back with ROR for Yandle+ or say OMG -23 PASS/Already got Barrie.

Coyotes fans provide context for -23 number and offer a small plus.
Avs fans still pass.

Other Coyotes fans come in and say while O'Reilly is a great Young player trading away our offensive catalyst is probably not a good idea without bringing back a slightly more established player.

That last one is probably me when I check the thread again later.
Also I don't think ROR puts up nearly the same numbers here.

OEL isn't available.

Yandle for ROR might be worth exploring.

As an Avs fan i'd rather go for Yandle.
OEL is obviously better and I would prefer to have him on my team but the cost of getting him would hurt the Avs more than the gain of OEL would help.

to qualify RO'R @ $6.5mil and lose Oliver (or even Yandle)?
I rather the Coyotes go after Stastny and keep OEL...
Elliot would be pushed down the depth chart on the Coyotes and the 1st would likely end up just being a depth player and not a game changer.

Totally agree with you. ROR is so impressive during all season and was one of the best players during playoff run.
But add a true #1 defenseman like OEL, an elite defenseman at just 22 for ROR, pick and Elliott. I am totally OK
Sorry but in that case, ROR is expendable. Agree with “DesertDawg” .

- ROR is a $6.5mil contrat per year.
- Elliot would be pushed down the depth chart on the Coyotes
- The 1st pick '14 would likely end up just being a depth player and not a game changer.

We just need to resign Stazz

Dont like if from the Avs POV.

ROR is becoming pretty underrated at this point. A 65 point season, with Elite Defense.

He's looking more and more like a Bergeron or a Toews type player. He's not there yet, but that's the direction he's headed in. And you dont trade those players for even an elite #1 Dman(Which OEL is not, anyway).

You dont trade those players in general.

I think the Yotes would rightfully ask for Duchene or MacKinnon for OEL.

I dont see Pho doing it. While the "value" is there, OEL is massively underrated.

It will take a lot more than ROR to get you an elite #1 defenseman.

I find it funny that both OEL and RoR are both being underrated in this thread.

OEL is a top 10 dman of the future and RoR is a top 10 winger. There are players to sell low in this league but those 2 arent them.

Yotes aren't trading OEL. Avs aren't trading ROR. Simple as that really.

It would take Landeskog (the player that we need the most, not another center) + McGinn + Barrie for us even to consider it.
