Nashville won't be. Some Nashville fans, perhaps, but I find it highly unlikely Poile would even consider such a move.

There's no Stamkos, Tavares, Mackinnon, McDavid, etc. If you're a team at Florida I think you are definitely "shopping" the pick to see what's out there instead of being passive.
I think you meant to say **As of now there is not Stamkos, Tavares, Mackinnon Types**

Just because they may not look as good at 17 years old does not mean that they can't develop into top NHL players.

Their is a reason players like Karlsson were taken after a player like Bogosian.. players develop differently and you just never know.

its funny how mackinnon is mentioned in the same names as clear cut #1s like stamkos and tavares, when he in fact was #2 for most of the year behind seth jones

I'd make available from Buffalo: Ehrhoff (w/ salary retained), Ennis, Hodgson, Foligno, NYI 2014 or 2015 1st, STL 2015 1st, most prospects.
Off the table are: Myers, Ristolainen, Zadorov, BUF 1sts in 2014-15.

If Florida would take a package of assets from that 1st pool, I'd be ecstatic to draft both Sams, but I'm not interested in giving up our strength on the blue line for the pick.

Most Oiler fans are not in favour of trading Yakupov as we have high hopes for him still, and most are aware that his value is low.
For me I'm not interested in trading any assets to move up in this draft. I will be equally as happy no matter which one of Bennett, Ekblad, Reinhart, or Draisaitl the Oilers pick.

Ottawa fans remind me of Toronto fans pre-2010 draft. So angry that they gave up huge assets for a one dimensional winger that failed. Thus Ottawa fans hate all talk regarding this years draft.

He was the clear cut #1 all along. As made obvious by the Avs coming out and saying long before the draft he was there guy.

The media did what they could to create some debate, and had a good few of us(Including butt hurt Panthers fans still) believing that it wasn't obvious.

But it was, and now one year later its even more obvious.

If Ehlers is who they want Canucks could be all over this.

I'd want the Leafs to grab Ekblad, he would bring more balance to our defensive pairings.

I would move 8th OV + Gardiner + Gauthier for 1st OV + a decent depth role player or 8th OV + Kadri to get him.

Nash, J. Moore, Talbot, Fast, Dorsett

for

Florida 1st.

That's 5 players that can play and help Florida now. Talbot is legit IMO.

Nash should take some regular season pressure off of the young kids to help them.

Edmonton isn't trading Eberle/Yak to move up 2 spots. They have tonnes of D prospects and arguably need a center at the draft more. I'm amazed people think it's Ekblad or nothing for Edmonton.

Edmonton be the dumbest buffoons on the planet to not not dump Eberle in order to draft Ekblad which is exactly what that sorry organization needs. A franchise defenseman.

Nurse and 3rd overall to move up 2 spots? Bennett/Ekblad/Reinart and maybe Draisaitl could easily be 1st overalls this year. If Florida hadn't previously taken Huberdeau, and Barkov they would be all over one of the centre's. Team need does not make a player the consensus #1 pick or infinitely more valuable. Consensus is that Florida has a nice group of centres and could use another D prospect(with Kulikov, and Gudbranson not living up to potential)

You need gooder English.

The Oilers are loaded with D prospects and Ekblad is not a franchise defenseman. Neither are any of the three centres available for that matter. Top end 60 point guys

Eller + Beaulieu + De La Rose + Fucale + 1st round draft pick in 2014

Montreal drafts Ekblad, basically the next Pronger!

Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Subban, Ekblad and Price = CUP!

In other words, I'm not expecting much.

Exactly this! (though if any team will trade the #1 overall, its Florida as they have done it a couple times in their history).

If the pick is traded and another team values Reinhart/Bennett/Draisaitl more than Ekblad(I think its a given that Buffalo is grabbing a C with their depth on the backend) I'd do that for the Oilers 3rd overall.

Since you seem to be one of many who lack reading comprehension in this thread, NO ITS NOT THE SAME AS EVERY YEAR!!

Every year, GMs take offers on the first pick. It is RARE that they actively shop it. And yes, there is a very clear difference there.
