Michael Bournival

I think we underrate him a bit. I know 7g, 7a during the season isn't wow but he did play most of the time on the bottom 6.

I like this kid's speed, forecheck and shot. He is a top 6 player and we need to give him the opportunity. If Vanek doesn't reisgn this summer, it could open a spot for Bourny. I can't believe he is sitting, stats don't really tell a lot about a player and Bourny is really a good player. You guys realize that prospects need to be given the right amount of ice time to develop right? Look at gallagher, he is becoming more dominant due to the raise of ice time we give him. If we can't develop prospects, there is no point in putting so much importance to a draft.

If he played on a good line he couldve got 40 points easily. Pacioretty desharnais bournival would dominate

Yes he is. Best forechecker on this team. Him Weise and Gallagher on the same line would be a nightmare for any defensemen

He is not a top 6 player, his potential is a good 3rd liner and he hasn't even reached that yet.

Well, I'm reasonably confident somebody will get hurt up front and he'll get his chance. I don't think I underestimate him, though, I'd like him in. I rail against Therrien when his player choices really hurt us, like with Subban previously, but the choices with Bournival and Tinordi/Beaulieu, I don't think it's the same thing... I like them better than some of the veterans, but I understand going with the experienced hands in those lesser roles, and don't think it is too likely to have an overall big effect, especially when we're winning (so far).

I'd be fine with that. That opens up vanek to play with pleks.

Bournival is not a real top-6 player, but if he can substitute on the top-6 when some or many of the top-6 are injured.

12 of his 14 points were from playing with pleks and gionta (I think) I didn't like when he got separated from that line he is definitely a top 9 forward at the moment and can play any forward position it just sucks that he is out of the line-up right now.

edit: it appears he is in the line-up today! sweet.

I expect a great backchecking game and provide energy, and throw his body around while not being completely useless offensively. So far this year he has done that and even more at times. Just exciting to watch every shift

Maybe on paper he isn't one but I believe he has improved a lot and he definitely has the skill and tools. Stats are just stats, make him play with a good scoring line and the kid will rack up points. I think he got 3 games in hamilton this year and apparently he put on a show.

I'm not talking about stats at all, I watched pretty much every habs game this year. Don't get me wrong he is one of my favourite players but I don't see him being anything more then a great 3rd liner with lots of intangibles.

If Bournival can be like Dave Bolland or Bryan Bickell, we struck gold....

Good. The 4th line looked dreadful last game. This should definitely provide a little help.

Bournival will never grow any bigger, but if shows that he can produce with top liners and wreak havoc on opposing players during the playoffs, then his effect will be similar to that of Bickell's, even though it will be his speed rather than size that will be driving that sort of impact.

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Bournival
Vanek-Plekanec-Gallagher
Bourque-Eller-Gionta
Prust/Moen-Briere-Weise

Looks good to me. But only after we lose.

Bournival really is Gallagher light, so he could work there. Then which line gets the tough defensive matchup? Right now, is easy. Spread the wealth a little and yikes. Chara can only play so many minutes.

I have to disagree on the Bickell comparison as Bournival will never be as effective as Bickell in front of the net which is where Bryan earns his paycheck.

Those were my lines exactly...Sadly Briere will have less support but its the 4th frickin line its okay. Vanek and DD won't work on 5vs5 but on the pp it would.

When Moen - Prust - Weise were reunited, that line looked pretty good. Drew the penalty that lead to the Subban goal.

Bournival - Briere - Weise should be more effective than Moen - Briere - Weise though.

Bournival is dynamite, I feel he would be most effective replacing Prust on the 2nd line.

I've loved Bournival all season and always thought he deserved a shot in the top 6. He played extremely well with Plekanec and Gionta earlier this season. I hate the fact that this kid flies so far under the radar.

I'm glad he's playing with Plekanec and Gally. Prust is getting on my nerves. Offensive blackhole that doesn't even hit anymore.
