Interesting. I saw that he signed an extension in the KHL yesterday per some sites, then saw, per Igor Eronko, that he actually declined his extension and said he was coming to North America.

Gavrus played this season for Dynamo Minsk in the KHL (one goal, three assists in 30 games) and, according to Lamoriello, does not need to be signed by June 1 because he considered a “defected player.”

When does overager WHL grad Myles Bell (2013 draft) have to be signed?

I believe Bell is a 2-year window, I don't believe his age has anything to do with it (Unless he's drafted at 20 & re-enters the draft at 22). I'll be curious if the Devils sign him this summer, or try to convince him to sign an AHL deal and see how his knee heals because he hurt it pretty bad in March.

Bell was off crutches and traveled to Portland before Kelowna was eliminated by the Winterhawks, but in the post-game interview the Rockets coach said "his knee was blown to bits" and involved multiple ligaments.

So yeah, it won't surprise me if they take a wait and see approach with Bell.

I hope he can make it to the prospects camp in July.

Yeah, I was expecting him to be a surprise start when Kelowna was facing elimination, just to throw off Portland. Then I read those post-game comments and it sounded real bad.

Igor Eronko also said last week that Yakimov is North America-bound. Still, I'm going to wait until I see something further before adding him.

He seems like the kind of player if he ever makes it to the NHL it will be after spending 5-6 years in the ECHL/AHL
