Expected to be back next game. Probably just playing it safe against a very hard hitting Ducks team.

According to swedish journalists who have actually talked to him it's just a fluke, and he'll be back for the next game.

And it's not his foot nor groin.

But NHL is close to playoff, actual facts are secret.

So it's anything from a broken arm to a headache.

Last interview (in swedish media) i saw he repeated the same.

Still unexplained 'upper body injury' but 'nothing serious'.
Not related to Ye Olde skate/foot/groin issues.

And still expects to be back 'the next game I hope'.

Any new news, at first he was only supposed to be out for one game, now its been almost a week, it appears to be more serious than at first thought.

Maybe not any news but a blog from a Nashville writer:

Unfortunately, that's how it always is with him. "Shouldn't be too long" are always the first words out of his month, followed by "it's just one of those things". It sucks, but that's life with Peter Forsberg.

something not released...

heard this from a couple of people in the know after considerable poking around.. forsberg has an "infection" that is being treated by antibiotics.. which is the reason he's been sat. relates back to the fact he lost his spleen and any little cut is more likely to become infected.. nothing serious, this evidently has sprung up from time to time with him ever since the loss of the spleen.

Gotta believe Forsberg got the infection from the cut he received in the Detroit game. If I remember correctly he got cut on the leg by a skate blade and needed stitches.

That would probably fit the right time frame for the cut and subsequent infection.

The leg... wasn't it called a "upper body injury" ?

Looked it up. It was his leg. Forsberg said in the postgame that he took a puck off his leg that caused a laceration that began to bleed and needed a couple of stitches to close.

I think he means...if it's an infection...and was in fact due to his lacerated leg...why are they calling it an upper-body injury.

Agreed, that was the point I was going for...sorry for any confusion. Pred303 is reporting that Forsberg is suffering from an infection, which he is prone for from any cut due to his spleen being removed during the playoffs a few seasons ago.

I was simply spectulating that it was the laceration that he received from getting hit with a puck in the Detroit game two Saturdays ago at the HOP that required stitches. I might be totally wrong, but that fits the timeline for the initial injury that lead to the infection.

Because they didnt want everyone speculating about whether it was his groin or his ankle?

as an aside, i also have it on pretty good authority that sullivan has been struggling with a herniated disk.. something he's had trouble with in the past that seems to get a little worse each time it happens.. evidently this time was a little worse than normal

Forsberg is good to go against Dallas.
He will play with Kariya and Radulov.

I heard he is not responding to his normal treatment.
