Been nice talking that is where the talks end. Any deal with Toffolu in it is over the kid is the real deal and much needed on the team and in the cap era.

Not if your downgrading the goalie position by trading a young good cheap goalie and then have to sign some vet who mostly will suck. No thanks.

And they won't be. Maybe a few fans but nobody in the Kings front office will. And if they did as soon as TT was names the talk would be over.

Any deal would have to hinge on Calgary and Gio agreeing to a mutual parting for the sake of Gio's chances. After that, once Gio knows and supplies what teams he would go to, only then can we figure out the price.

Trying to bid on Gio based on open market value not only is futile, the Kings would never part with that value since our lack of high end prospects makes our precious, low-cap-hit, young, NHL roster scorers the only targeted assets. If Gio only wants LA and maybe a couple other teams, then the trade value goes way down and possibly within the scope of what LA is willing to give up.

LA 1st + Zykov + Gravel

LA gets their guy without giving up Toffoli. Still probably not enough for Calgary but at least it's better.
That's a terrible deal for LA. Not only do we lose a top 6 talent forward, but we lose a top 4 defenseman too. Kings would not give up that much for a defenseman like Giordano. That's too much uprooting and setting back the pipeline.

The Kings' pipeline is fine, and most of their core is still youngish. On D they've got four guys who are 26 or younger in addition to their defensive prospects.

Anyway, Giordano is one of the last guys on the Flames who could get traded. If there were a deal being made with LA I imagine it'd involve Voynov with an addition coming back.

Giordano has way more value than Toffoli. So him not being on the table if you want Giordano is ridiculous. You'd be adding a 1st and something else to get Giordano. Toffoli by himself isn't close to enough. The overvaluing of Toffoli is ludicrous. He's an averaged sized 22 year old 12 goal scorer. We're not talking a high end player here. We're talking about a guy who could be an average 2nd liner.

As usual, Calgary has to give up Giordano with a collection of lesser pieces coming back. The minute we suggest acquiring something of value and usefulness in return for one of the most complete defensemen in the game today, we're looked at as crazy.

I keep forgetting that Giordano isn't worth unproven uber-god Toffoli.

Gio is worth more than a lot of these offers. The only thing is that his age (30).

What 22 year old with 34 career points in 72 NHL games is worth not talking about?

I just shake my head on how much fans overrate there prospects.

There isn't a top 6 forward or a top 4 dman in that package. There are 2 prospects, neither that close to being a top 6 F or top 4 D in the near future. They are both good, but not great prospects.

Stop overrating your team's players.

Any defensemen in the league that logs up +25 minutes a game is the most valuable asset you could have on a team, and there were only 11 who did that this season, including Gio. Even if you play on a bad team, not many take up that much of a game's ice time.

So it's quite an underestimation of Gio's potential value to any team in the league to say someone like Toffoli shouldn't be included in the deal, because it's probably not enough with him and several other pieces.

Dion P also says hi and that YOUR opinion isn't true because he played significantly under 25 minutes per game
