The same Lecavalier that has been playing on your 4th line?

Leafs fans suffer from short-term memory. Lupul is Toronto's best secondary scorer and a player you covet when the playoffs come around. Who does Lecav usurp? Bolland, no; Bozak, no way; Kadri, HELL no. Not interested in an old-aged 4th liner with a terrible contract for a 2nd liner who happens to be one of our best, and only leaders.

Hate seeing Leafs fans toss their players in every proposal. Value what you have.

You realize a Toronto fan started this thread right?

You realize OP's proposal is Gardiner + Lupul, right?

How is a player that has to potential to be a #1 defenseman have more value than a franchise-PPG-Hart-nominee player?

LOL. Giroux is in the same league as players like Toews and Getzlaf. and you think Rielly is worth that? oh you crazy Leaf fans.

The only way Rielly gets moved if its for a 1C in a package deal or for another young high-end prospect who has the potential to become 1C in the future.

I said: "Well any deal would be around Giroux if Philly wants Rielly"

Which means Giroux would be the centerpiece, not Rielly. So to answer your question, he doesn't have more value then said player.

OP's offer is more than fair value but Leafs decline as it's poor asset management. A winger doesn't fill the need of a centre, or a top pairing defenseman, so why ship off our best bargaining chips for anything other. Giving up on Gardiner is asking for trouble, his potential and skill are too high to risk losing. If tamed, he will be a staple on the top pairing for years to come.
well my friend if that is true your future ( as well as present) looks very bleak.

Pass. We don't need another center. We already have: Giroux, Couturier, B.Schenn, Lecavalier, Raffl(can play LW too), and Laughton on his way.

Wow I knew Toronto fans were nuts but this is just wow! #1 defensemen in the minors who has yet to play in the nhl is worth more than a legit NHL All Star. I understand being biased about your team but wow!

No team over values there players more than Toronto. Hows the playoff run working out for you guys? Maybe trade Clarkson for 3 first rounders too right.

You know a trade is off base when all of the teams fans in the league say no way, he aint worth that. Most not all Toronto fans start yapping about hockey knowledge etc but still want to trade their guys cause they have flaws. Those flaws we see too!

Guys wake up!

And Leafs fans wonder why they get such a bad rap on these boards

Classic.

You've been here what, all of about a week and a half? I've been viewing these things for 5+ years .

Look, I understand Leafs fans not wanting to trade Rielly. Fine. But to say his value is equivalent to a current #1 dman because he has the POTENTIAL to be a #1 dman is ludicrous. You want Simmonds? We need a top pairing, or potential top pairing defenseman. Not your scraps, or your infamous quantity for quality trade proposals. Don't want to pay the price? Fine. But don't laugh at us when we don't bow down to the ****** proposal the OP posts. Also, saying Giroux would be needed in order to trade Rielly is laughable.

Because we disagree with a Philly fan that pegs Wayne Simmonds value as a 19 year old that has the potential to be a #1 dman. I think/hope every fan base would do that.

1. Potential is the key word there.

2. Who pegged his value at that? We're just saying that if we were going to trade Simmonds, we'd need a potential top pairing defenseman coming back, or else there's no need to trade him. Rielly is the only one on the Leafs who fits the bill. We're not saying Toronto should do it, we're saying that's what it would take to get Simmonds. Don't think the values there? Fine, we're not really interested in trading Simmonds anyway.

Leafs fan here. OPs offer is decent IMO but I world decline as philly. I think though that since rielly and jvr are not going anywhere then there is no deal to be made. Riellh is over payment and jvr is on a better contract then Wayne will be sheet he gets his new contract.

A perfect trade in a perfect world would involve kadri+ going the other way... But unfortunately Philly has a plethora of centers. / thread

Please tell me you arent talking about Reilly with this comment? If you are, you should just cancel your user name and never come on these boards again because you obviously have nothing to add of value to any conversation.

We see the flaws as well. The flaws in your entire argument...

HE's has a higher upside than any defenceman currently on the Flyers roster, by a wide margin. So what does that say about your trolling comment?

If our future is bleak what does that make yours? Cuz you guys don't have a defender even close to Rielly's skill level and potential.
