Straka.

No one gives a more honest effort on every shift.

Should be Hossa. No other player has worked harder to improve his overall game than Hossa.

Prucha

without question. Scroing clutch goals in games we need to win, hitting bigger opponents, overcoming the coaching staffs poor decision making skills, blocking shots, celebrating beautifully, desire to win and get into high traffic areas, always making a strong effort!

Brendan Shanahan, if only for more reason to give the Rangers another go around next year (health permitting).

While many love to bash this current team, it doesn't take much reflection to see the hardwork of almost every player on the roster.

Remember, Sandy McCarthy won it two straight years...talk about a sad era.

I think its Hossa. He's come a long way this year. Many people were down on him, as he hadn't done much as a Ranger. But he's improved his play a lot this year, and fit in wherever he's been asked to play.

I think it should come down to Hollweg, Hossa or Pru, and I pick Ryan. But I think that Shanny will get it ...

Added a poll with the names used in the thread so we could see what our results would be.

This is pretty tough, I went with Orts, but it could have easily been Shanny or Prucha as well with Lundqvist, Straka and Hollweg not far behind.

I voted Hossa due to the fact to the way he raised his game.

Shanahan, the guy carried this team for months did everything from scoring to fighting to unpacking the plane to leading to diving in front of shots, etc etc etc

No body did more of everything that Shanahan, some guys were scorers, some guys were checkers, some guys were fighters, some guys dove at pucks, no one did it all like Shanahan did.

Ortmeyer is a nice story coming back, a feel good story but just not the same.

Orts does what he has to in order to stay employed otherwise he is a dime a dozen player.

You'd be hard pressed to find 38 year old 600 goal scorers who still go down to block a shot, drop the gloves with the best fighter in hockey and still play every game like they are trying to make the team.

Sorry, that to me is the greatest example of extra effort.

i agree with everything you say but had to go with henrik......

hes been carrying the team on his back since new years....starting nearly every game always giving us a chance to win......we wouldnt be in this playoff race if he hasnt played the way he has.....if we could only score goals we would be sittin on top of the division
