Faceoff issues?

One thing I have noticed, and I don't think I'm alone, is the Rangers incredible ability to be tossed from the faceoff circle. I don't want to sound whiney, or that I'm complaining, but it always seems that a Ranger gets tossed from the circle, never the opponent. Is there something I'm missing? I'm a little fuzzy on the faceoff rules, are they just undisciplined in the circle? I can't remember the last tiem I saw n opponent get tossed by himself. Thoughts?

I don't think you're alone in noticing it, but it's just one of those things we have to live with.

Nylander gets tossed all the time, and when he was healthy and on that line hossa would come in and he always went forward with the puck.

we do and the opposition does the samething and they stay. How many times have you seen an opposing player lined up outside the corcle jump the gun and come into the circle? Often. The rule is the offending team's faceoff gets kicked out. But that doesn't happen. How many times have you seen them drop the puck before we are ready? How many times have you seen the ref get in the way of our players while they have the puck? How many times do we get called for a penalty by the trailing ref, while the opposite seldom happens for us?

That's what I was thinking. I've always been a Ranger fan, I've have become numb to inconsitencies in the way the game is called, so I am in no way complaining. But it is just incredible how I cannot recall one time this season that an opponent got tossed, without a Ranger with him. I say we put someone in, wait for him to get tossed, the put a Nylander in or whoever else. Some reverse psychology on the Zebras haha.

Betts got tossed in ****ing OT on a ****ing 4 on 3 PK. What a joke. I can't stand it honestly. It's one of the most frustrating things of this season.

I'm not someone who likes to point at refs for mistakes, but I've seen it in this case. I actually thought this to myself during today's game. I'm not sure whether it is the referee's fault, or is it Renney and the coaching staff for not teaching them how to do faceoffs properly...( I know that's unlikely)

i dont think it matters that much. our centers cant win a faceoff to save there lives. suprisingly, cullen and dubinsky are the only ones who can win faceoffs.

Betts. He wins almost all his draws. And when Renney specifically has him out there to win an important draw, and the ref kicks him out, it really pisses me off.

Malik had to take that faceoff...he didn't even try to win it.

The Rangers seem...

to win more faceoffs than they lose, so personally, it doesn't matter to me if they get thrown out of the faceoff circle if they're winning more than their fair share of faceoffs.

But yesterday I think he was nearly perfect. Or maybe it was against the Isles on Thursday...but he did quite well.

Yea, he did look good on draws his first two games. But maybe that's only because I only noticed the draws he won and didn't take notice to the ones he lost.

Dubinsky went against face off specialist Brindamour several times. Not many come out with a faceoff win after going against that guy.... Dubi has been holding his own with faceoffs....

Cullen is at 54% according to the stats i'm looking at. Betts actually at 51%.

I think part of being good is really testing that limit of what is legal and what not... Unfortunately, refs seem to have something against the Rangers and it results in what we see. Betts getting thrown out on a 4 on 3 was pretty nuts to me personally.

I think what it is with the refs is that they grew up a fan of one particular team... Unfortunately, if you look around at opposing teams' fans and their most hated teams, the Rangers are seemingly always in the top 5. Well refs are human... Some of them seem to carry that dislike on to the ice. THus we get what we see.
