Poile just said he's looking at all these teams with big 6'3 number once centers like Kopitar and Getzlaf and how we need one.. Then said he realizes we have one, in Colin Wilson. He continued to say that this is the make it or break it year for him and this will be a great opportunity for him.

Also said that Stalberg and Wilson were misused by Trotz. Position wise and situational wise.

Smith, Wilson, Forsberg, Hook, Cullen, Stalberg, MDZ, Jones, and Ellis.

Like the move, but...

It sounds like a major culture change is about to slap us up side the head. We won't, IMHO, get over the learning curve in one year. I doubt the playoffs next year, but I think we are doing what we have to do to get on the right track to playing modern hockey.

He said whether it's the draft, offseason, mid season, or trade deadline we have to get a guy like Kopitar or Getzlaf

How many Top 6 Forwards (on other teams) do you think are on the Predators

Just think if he had gotten Getzlaf when he had the chance instead of getting ole **** face.

Smith, Hornqvist, Fisher could all be low top 6 players on other teams.

Korn not sure yet, all others are staying. They also are bringing in a 3rd assistant coach (Kevin McCarthy, worked with Laviolette in Philly) to work alongside Lane Lambert and Phil Housley.

George Plaster is on 102.5 the game on the radio, just tearing into the Predators and Laviolette.........for Lavi hanging around the Bridge all year (unfair to Trotz), some conspiracy about the Preds making the announcement today, and his irritation that the coach is not on the phone talking to him now. Plaster is on a rage, he must be having a bad bad day.

Yes he said that Wilson should be that and he hopes for it. But he also said we need to go out and get one that isn't on our team right now

thanks guys. Sounds reasonable.

I expect this will either be brilliant(if he can get more offense out of our current players without sacrificing defense too much) or an abject disaster(if our forwards cannot adjust to hs system)

You don't have to be a hockey HF expert to think it is kinda odd that a new coach was not at least on the phone during a press conference announcing he is a new NHL coach..
