I know. Just expressing some frustration. Good post.

a few guys

i would be cool with barbashev, good defensively, a skilled forward is indeed something we could sure use.

i like sherbak as well, reminds me of voracek.

another guy ia honka, a fin playing with swift current broncos. similar in size to mcdonald and timmonen. not sure what he offers for leadership, but i would put his floor at mcdonald and his ceiling at timmonen in terms of style and skill.1st pairing at best, 2nd at worst.

do you ontario guys have any more info on jared mccann. c-lw, soo st.marie, greyhounds. he appears to be a poor mans version of claude giroux or a richer mans version of matt read. he could be a guy that our scouts love, he has a lot of the flyer traits in him. will he be bpa at 17, he may very well be.

He was great at the World Juniors, I'd definitely be on board with drafting him. Alright, so my list at the moment is Fiala, Honka. I still have time to add.

So far my list is:
Fleury
Kapanen
Fiala
McKeown
Honka

There's too many guys I haven't seen enough, like Fabbri, Scherbak, Milano, Tuch, Barbashev and others.

My list of guys I most want would be

1. Ekblad
2. Dal Colle
3. Ritchie
4. Virtanen
5. Fleury
6. Perlini
7. Ehlers
8. Tuch
9. Barbashev
10. Sherbak
11. McKeown
12. Pastrnak
13. Irving
14. Goldobin
15. Kapanen

Most of those guys will go before we pick, most likely, especially the top 5. I really wouldn't mind trading up as far as possible to grab one of them.

Out of the realistic targets anyone of Barbashev, Scherbak, Milano, Fabbri, Fiala, McKeown, Dougherty, Glover, or Sanheim will do for me. In the end I trust the Flyers scouts to deliver so even if I don't initially like the pick I'll warm up to it after I start reading into it more.

When it comes to forwards in the 1st round, I'd say the Flyers are one of the best in the league. Just look at how many great forwards they've drafted in the mid to late 1st round... most of them have had good careers with the exception of that bust Giroux. I trust them to pick a good forward if that's the way they go.

Not a major publication but FutureConsiderations released their list for May.

http://futureconsiderations.ca/fc-re...014-nhl-draft/

Kapanen took a big plunge in their eyes.

Central Scouting already released their final list. I would imagine ISS, McKenzie, & Button are waiting until closer to the draft to release theirs.

I'd also hope that the Flyers are weighing their trade options. I would definitely be excited if they could move up 7-8 spots to grab a guy like Perlini. More video I watch, the more certain skills standout.

Sanguinetti would have been much smarter if the Rangers hadn't outsmarted Clarke..lol

I'm starting to look down the line to who we can get in round two. That first rounder may well be gone in a trade.

Based off of that list and how the Flyers reach abit for players they like:

20). RW Josh Ho-Sang, Windsor (OHL), 5-11, 165
21). RW Conner Bleackley, Red Deer (WHL), 6-1, 195
22). G Thatcher Demko, Boston College (NCAA), 6-4, 180
23). RW Nikolay Goldobin, Sarnia (OHL), 6-0, 175
24).D Jack Dougherty, USNTDP U18 (USHL), 6-1, 185
25). C Jakub Vrana, Linkoping J20 (SuperElit), 5-11, 185
26). RW Kasperi Kapanen, KalPa (SM-Liiga), 5-11, 170
27). C Adrian Kempe, Modo J20 (SuperElit), 6-2, 190
28).D Roland McKeown, Kingston (OHL), 6-1, 200
29). D Anthony DeAngelo, Sarnia (OHL), 5-11, 175
30).RW Anton Karlsson, Frolunda J20 (SuperElit), 6-1, 190

Big fan of Goldobin and Vrana. Also like Kapanen.

Dougherty & Vrana just had strong tournaments at the U18's which the Flyers have been putting a lot of emphasis on as of late (Laughton, Morin, & Hagg).

Kapanen had one of the most disappointing tournaments which I would guess is part of why they dropped him that much on their list compared to others.

Surprised at the lack of discussion around Aaron Irving. He had a disappointing playoffs for a mediocre Edmonton team, but looks like he could be a promising 2-way defenseman.

Edm's blue line was stacked this year. They have 2 draft eligible dmen this year that could go in the 2 or 3 rd rounds. I hope we can pick one up.

Edmonton finished third overall in the WHL this year & is currently in the WHL Finals against Portland. They're currently down 2-1 in that series but went 12-2 the first three rounds.

His teammate Dysin Mayo is out producing him by a good margin this playoffs.

Wow they have Kapanen pretty low. Would love to grab him at 17.

I hope we don't go with the NJ kid in DeAngelo.

I'm surprised Sonny Milano isn't getting any love around here. That's the guy I want in the first (provided no one falls). He's a smaller guy, but he's got some serious puck handling skills from what I have seen/read/heard. He plays with Jack Eichel IIRC so it could perhaps be inflated...or maybe Eichel's numbers are the ones being inflated...but I still think he is worth a first rounder.

Yea sadly I wouldnt be surprised if he was the pick. Sewell, NJ native (where I live haha).

Kids head seems abit wacked. Got suspended twice for verbal harassment, abuse, etc. The 2nd time seemed to be the worse for the team suspended him before even the league did. Also purely one dimensional offensive defenseman who cant play defense at all.

But like I said he is a local kid and you know the Flyers do like the locals.

Honestly, I think Homer has been pretty good of late to pick real gamers. As in people who aren't headcases and do what they are good at.

This team has been at the very top in the WHL for the last three years and you're saying they're mediocre?

That seems less likely now, unless it's a trade for a young player.

I'm liking this now, hextall keeps young players and draft picks, and then homer knows how it's best to use the picks, this could be good.

I don't know, I wouldn't rule it out either way. This would be the year to move the pick if Hextall thinks he needs a little shakeup to the current roster.
