Great Tribute to The Russian Rocket!!

He's my favorite player ever, and since he's a former Ranger, I can post it here, also.

Some of these goals are insane! It's really a shame that his poor knees took such a beating.

What a great hockey player he was. Never knew, was there a particular play he injured his knee on, or was it cumulative? He probably melted all the cartilage from skating so fast...

I think the first injury is shown in this video:

Watch the goal with the Rangers against the Ducks at 6:53. The guy's acceleration and puck control at top speed is insane. Does anyone know when this was scored?

Imagine him in a Rangers jersey with the new rules...

Incredible talent offensively. One of, if not the best offensive player I've ever seen. (I didn't see Gretzky in his absolute prime, I think Bure may be more electric than Lemieux).

That is just sick, sick hockey. Incredible talent. A goalies worst nightmare. Defensemen too. What the hell do you do with that guy.

You know what? We were lucky to win the cup. No wonder it went 7 games. I can't beleive Richter stopped him.

Could you imagine how exciting it would be to catch a player like that in his prime in NYC??

Then you'd hear them talking hockey on the radio.

I absolutely hated his guts for years (mainly because of '94). I used to make fun of him all the time...said he looked like a girl. But man, the guy can sure dazzle out there.

I could never get his jersey for that reason, plus, #9 is Graves' number, Bure should have never worn it.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. It was an overtime winner and I had to run to the bathroom to clean my self up after I saw it.

I remember JD saying he personally called Adam to ask his permission to wear #9 and it was granted. That's gotta be worth something.

new rules came about ten years too late. This guy was my favorite player growing up, and this video just reaffirms it.

how about that goal they show on the intro/outtro? just sick.

probably the most dyanmic/explosive player of all time. I'd love to see what he would be able to do with all these new rules. I can't imagine the amount of breakaways he would have with the elimnation of the 2 line pass.

yep, i remember that too. He called Graves and asked him for his #.

Watching those videos, his speed and quickness are amazing. He'd be great with the new rules.

I started watching hockey because of the guy. Still rock his #9 Rangers jersey at the Garden

We should've had him years earlier. Wasn't the supposed deal between smith and Burke Bure for Manny Malhatra, Dan Cloutier, and a few mid round picks, but Neil turned him down, cause he did'nt want to give up the future captain Manny?

He pulls the puck back to his right skate, the goalie never sees the stick go with the deke, he gently "passes" the puck back to his stick blade and effortlessly deposits the puck in te net. All the time going a hundred miles an hour. Goalie starts looking for his pants at that point. He was probably doing that move since he was a mite. Unbelieveable.
