Biggest game of the year (obviously)...IMO they have to win the rest of their home games. A win tonight and some losses by the right teams and we are in decent shape. Compared to the other teams in the race our schedule is pretty good. Gonna need a solid performance from Aebischer (****) tonight.

Habs911, where'd you pull those Isles lines from (not to mention the defensive pairings)? Probably more like:

Smyth Robitaille Blake
Kozlov Yashin Satan
Hilbert Sillinger Hunter
Zednik or Tambellini Park Asham

Witt Hill
Poti MAB
Campoli Meyer

Yashin has been back for two games already.

Alex Kovalev will not dress for tonight's game. Head coach Guy Carbonneau says his Russian forward could be suffering more from vertigo than the flu; doctors are investigating. Look for Andrei Kostitsyn to replace him tonight.

Sergei Samsonov, expressing regret for saying he regretted signing in Montreal last off-season, is a firm "I don't think so" insertion, according to Carbonneau.

Radek Bonk will be a game-time decision, down with – wait for it – the flu. Carbonneau says he'd be comfortable dressing seven defencemen and 11 forwards if necessary.

Not yet. I'm still waiting for something out of left field, like dressing Ninimaa or even Samsonov. Lately, I have been shocked by lots of decisions, i.e confirming Halak for the rest of the year, and taking it all back four days later to confirm Aebi for the rest of the season.

Anything could happen. Even a win.

Habs are doomed. The Isles got a better lineup, is better coached and a superior goalie.

6-1 Isles

Go Habs Go. This is the end of the line.

I have a question guys. I know that Kovavlev is sick, but are Samsonov and Bonk out as well. One of the posters on the isles board said they were. If its true what is wrong with them? Good luck tonight.

Never mind guys. I read through the rest of the thread.

Rds.ca is reporting that Niinimaa is likely in for Kovalev, and not Kost... I still won't believe it til I actually see it cause it sound so unbelievably stupid

If Janne freaking Niinimaa is playing FORWARD instead of Kostitsyn tonight I am officially on the fire Carbo bandwagon.

And I will hope the Habs get blown out tonight. That's what they would deserve for doing unbelievably stupid things such as playing an AHL (if that) quality d-man as a FORWARD instead of their best forward prospect who got unfairly scratched the last game and was playing very well as recently as 2 games ago.

F'ing aye. I can't believe it has come to this.

I heard Carbo this morning and he said that he will play the players who want to win the games and who work for the good of the team. It's crystal clear that Kosty is one of the players not working hard in the practice and not giving his 100% on the ice. Why can't you guys accept what's obvious??? Kosty is not the player you thought he was, that's it. He doesn't work hard enough to be a star on the NHL, let alone play in the NHL at this point. Stop kidding yourselves, it's not funny anymore.

I have to agree with you. I haven't really been part of the Carbo ***** and bashfest but if Niinimaa plays forward tonight then I will have to join. I can't imagine this happening but we'll see.
