Gainey has to get a top center this summer. Tonight seals it. It's got to be 3 scoring lines, #1- ? #2-Koivu #3-Plekanec.

Bonk cannot come back as our famous "3rd line checking center". Just not going to happen.

Nice to answer to being a possible scratch prior to the game.

Well then you're ****ing blind.

Some Talent Analyst you are.... Anyway, I'd go with;

Latendresse - Koivu - Ryder
Higgins - Plekanec - Kost
Johnson - Bonk - Kovalev
Begin - Lapierre - Murray

that 4th line better not play more than 10mins.

I'd be thrilled to see those lines against Pittsburgh.

yup, kid definitely deserves to stay on our top 6..

Latendresse - Koivu - Ryder
Higgins - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Kovalev - Bonk - Johnson
Streit/Murray - Lapierre - Begin

Komisarek - Markov
Souray - Niinimaa
Gorges - Dandenault

Bouillon in the pressbox (I'm pretty sure it won't happen though..)

Why? Begin and Lapierre have been 2 of our better players in recent games. Murray has also put forth a very solid effort since being in the line up.

Why do people judge these players solely on the numbers they put up?

I disagree. I find our 4th line constantly pinned in our zone. Sure once in a while, they have a good offensive shift but not as much as it seems.

Once in a while, around 10 mins a game that line is good. Otherwise i don't like it. our other 3 lines bring a lot more i find.

Kostitsyn will be a top 6 forward from now to the end of the season and also will be a top 6 next year replacing Samsonov

I find the X factor on line four is Streit... When he's on it, they get their licks in. When he's not, they get streaks, but are - as you say - too often hemmed in.

The only problem I have with that 4th line playing time is when they are used.Carbo needs to understand that they won't get him a goal when we need one. When the game is tied or we are in the lead fine play the regular lines, but like I said the only problem I have with Carbo is sending that 4th line when we need a goalie!

Streit wasn't on the 4th line tonight. He wasn't on the fourth line last game either.

I agree in theory, but Carbs is the coach. We may well see Kosts benched next game.

It doesn't hurt, it even helps.

Andrei Kostitsyn did GREAT . Hit hard along the boards, take control of the puck, works hard behind the net, agressive puck-protection, impressive defensive plays.... wow... that's what he needs to do EVERYNIGHT : to work hard.

Andrei Kostitsyn deserves to be a top 6 players for the rest of the year? It all depens on how Andrei will handle his play. If he continue to show commitment to work hard : fine ; if he wants to take some shift off and play a soft unwilligness play : hamilton.

i wonder how many games kost has to play like this to shut up the people around here that think he sucks and doesn't work hard.

since he has been called up i thought he was one of the best forwards MTL had. i don't get to see practice so i can't speak for his effort there. hopefully he can please cabs enough to get ice time because he might be key to saving the playoff drive for this team.

yeha i guess your right, when i saw we signed sammy i was excited, rookie of the year, and 75pt season, i really had big expectations for him. but at 3.5mil, he was a total flop! we need to get rid of him...

I think the way Kosty played tonight will go along way to shutting up his critics.

Yes... the 5-day period between the recalls of Milroy and Kostitsyn is most definitely what is being questioned, not the months he spent in Hamilton beforehand.

I think after tonight Carbo understands that we need Kostitsyn in the lineup instead of guys like Murray and Streit playing forward.Move him back on D cause I dont trust anyone but Markov back there

Kostitsyn getting praise

32. Andrei Kostitsyn, RW - Montreal Canadiens

You will get arguments in some corners that Kostitsyn is the top player in the AHL this season. A combination of salary cap and numbers have limited the Belarusian to just a handful of NHL games this season, but it's clear that the winger with the booming shot is ready to make the jump. He played 10 games with the Canadiens this year, posting three assists. With 21 goals and 31 assists in 50 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Kostitsyn has worked hard on his play away from the puck and on making his own shots, and he's expected to be a contributing regular at the NHL level next season.
