They played terrible for 3 periods. I'm not understanding Laxdall's no timeout decision. Portland came back from 3 goals twice and not one timeout to settle things down. Brutal.

Two periods of not skating by the Oil Kings, impressive.

I'll never have faith in an Edmonton team ever again.

one of the all-time gags...but this is junior hockey where emotions and momentum swings are huge

but blowing a 5-2 lead AT HOME in the 3rd will be a tough pill to swallow and that'll hurt all summer...cause they're no chance they win game 7

none

I think we can all appreciate your optimism, but that kind of thing doesn't go away overnight. True champs don't let tonight happen.

At least Brossoit has one win more than Jarry.

Yes, there's a chance. Portland Winterhawks lost three in a row. True champs don't lose three in a row, right?

I'm in shock.

How do you try and sit on a lead against Portland in the third? Why?

I just can't see it happening tomorrow. The Friday game was a rare enough occurance, now Portland has momentum and confidence.

The 4th loss is the one that matters.

Flashback to 2006, game 1 of the Cup Finals. Took the Oilers at LEAST a game to get over that blown lead.

Hockey isn't a science where you can repeat things and get the same result. Unless you're on the Oilers and you have a knack for toe dragging.

The chance of them winning is small. Statistically WHL game 7 championships have the home team at 10-0, but I wouldn't mind seeing a statistical anomaly tomorrow.

For real? Wow. Lots of broken ankles in here from all the bandwagon jumping.

Pretty sure they were dead in the water after #2, labled mentally weak and about to be swept. Sure, they screwed it today and the odds might be leaning Portland's way, but it ain't over yet.

I'm hoping they win too, but I just don't see it. They looked too far ahead and got dragged back to reality.

This reminds me of the Oilers won Game 6 and lost Game 7 back in the 2006 Stanley Cup Final.

It would have been one thing if they kept skating and just got outplayed.

But they just completely stopped moving and handed Portland that game. I'm so disappointed right now. They had that. I just...

Wow.

Still proud of the boys, but boy oh boy was that a dumb gameplan in the third. Why anyone on the team would think that sitting back and gift wrapping Portland, the most skilled in the league, offensive zone entries is beyond me.

Heck of a crowd- they were loud and into it the entire time.

Buck the odds on Monday boys!

Edit: I also thought the fourth Portland goal was pretty suspect. Seemed to me that Jarry had the puck covered for a good 2 seconds before the hawks stabbed it through his pad and over the line.

All these fair weather fans can stick to the Oilers.

They don't have a chance my ass. They came back two games to none. Tonight hurts quite a bit, but to say they're done, c'mon.

Yup. Totally got away from everything that got them here with 3 straight wins.

Do they have the gumption to put that back together? It'll take some guts. But they had it in spades until the 2nd period...
