I was at the game tonight... Honestly Kostitsyn was AWESOME.

The game was great, enjoy everything of that game or almost everything... Aebischer was always out of position and lie down on the ice.

9.5/10 for the game.

BTW Souray with 11 powerplay minutes and 30 minutes overall, wow.

Fun fact:

Did you heard his interview on 110%, I can't even write what he said, I didn't understand, but it was like the same 3 words said 3 times

I was there and nobody followed my "You Screwed Oilers" chant when Smyth was on the ice, but I still got lots of attention because of my Kovalev Ak Bars Kazan jersey and my friend had her Kovalev Dynamo Moscow jersey.

I think TSN is going to be changing the "Needs to make better use of his teammates" flaw.

Where you was ?

I was White 307 AA, just under the Molson Ex freak... Now I know where are the folks who "booo" the players... all coming from there...

I was wearing a Kovalev t-shirt also.

Wow that is really funny I wonder what the record is for one player to be called up and sent down over a few years.

Wouldn't even mind switching Kovalev & Murray - Kovalev seemed to do quite well with Begin & Lapierre the other day. But your lines are fine.

I didn't say I was talking about tonight.

Although, technically, with this line-up that went tonight, it's damn near impossible to say which line numbered what. But yes, he has not been the last two games.

I was referring more to the Laps-Streit-X combo a few weeks prior.

I really like these lines.

Was at the game tonight. Second line was simply unreal. EVERY time they were out there they were generating chances. I don't think I can add to what's already been said about Kostitsyn's ridiculous passes tonight. I'm still a tad shocked, even after watching them again on Canadiens Express.

Random line IMO.

Your first line is scray without the puck.

About his lack of vocabulary...

Ahem...you know whenever I do satyrical pieces on the Habs, and I rib the Russians, Kostitsyn is always the dumbest of the bunch.

Just saying.

Curious .

Kostytsin was having 3 points in 10 games . Carbo scratched him and then , he answers with that big night + 3 points production .

If you look at it , Carbo took the good decision with him . This guy is having a real talent , but needs to be push ; He wants to play ? Carbo just showed him to give his 100 % .

I would try just switching Kovalev and put Latendresse back with Lapierre and Begin. Just remember that they were one of our best line in the last 4-5 games.

Kovalev - Koivu - Ryder
Higgins - Plekanec - Kost
Johnson - Bonk - Murray
Begin - Lapierre - Latendresse

I think it's finally time that we see Kovalev and Koivu play together, chemistry between these two is just incredible... Every chance that they have playing together result in a scoring chance. And with our second line being so good, we don't need to spread the talent (seperate Koivu and Kovalev).

Please, don't try to make Carbo look like a genious when he was going to scratch AK again if it weren't for the flu. While Kosts only had 3 points in 10 games, he was for last 5 one of our more consistent forwards. His benching made no sense whatsoever, especially with the ridiculous line juggling that was happening.

AK owned tonight because of him and not because Carbonneau did some elaborate psychology with him. He's been playing well since he's been called up, tonight he finally broke out.

I really dont think so. First he had 3 pts in like 4 games he played recently, second, if you look at all of his play time etc, hes just NOT used!

It's the first time he plays with Higgins and I didn't see him with Koivu yet. We are talking about a guy that multiplies his efficiency every time you improve his surroundings. The next step will be to use him on the PP point man, where I'm pretty confident he can make Souray look like an amateur(Once hes fully confident and given a regular spot). From this position not only he can shoot with about the same ability as Souray(One timers, slap shots), but he can setup plays down low as well, something Souray is not capable off. Hes also lethal with his wrist shot, once again something rare with Souray. So I'm asking again, why KEEP Souray at 5m when our top line winger can play like Kovalchuk on the PP, fair enough he didn't do it in the NHL yet.

They did good tonight. Latendresse was solid with and without the puck.

Kostitsyn was scoreless in his first 4 or 5 games. Look at the ice time he had in those games.

Streit has been on D for a good 2+ months as far as I know. He was doing quite well there and hasn't looked overly impressive as a forward. As long as he doesn't get benched before Niinimaa, Bouillon or Dandenault I'm pretty happy.

Because you probably are a genius..

Im starting to be seriously irritated by the ones claming they know better than the Gainey Carbo Jarvis Muller of this world..

Didnt you ever think that Carbo isnt stupid enough to realize the lines he created against St-Louis were looking somewhat marginal? The team was going nowhere even with our supposed "best offensive players" reunited together.. no synchronism, no energy, no soul, nothing was working... The team was already acting like they were outside of the playoffs race... What Carbo tried to do is shaken up his team, he had nothing to lose at this point.. That was what we could call an electrochocs treatment.. Carbo seen some things he didnt like in Kostitsyn's game, he thought he could do way better even if the whole team werent doing better than the kid... Instead watching the boat sinking, he took a drastic decision and as far as Im concerned, this is working... Once again, he had nothing to lose considering the team was playing like possibly the worst team in the league before the game against the Blues...

Easy to blame a coatch, but next time, try to ask yourself a couple of questions before having such ridiculous conclusions that you would do a better job than Carbo and the whole coatching staff to get this team on the right track..
