I'm glad that NYR made it a series at least.

Lots of momentum going in the NY direction.

The Thornton spray is different because, even if it sounds baby'ish because it's just a water spray, it was a safety issue with Thornton as well as interrupting the play. A player that isn't on the ice sprayed a player in the face (or could have)during the course of play. Players on the bench aren't supposed to be involved in play and if that type of thing is allowed then maybe one day it's distracting enough to cause the player in play to get distracted. With the Perry and Lundqvist things it's both during whistles and between players on the ice. No different then most of the stuff that happens in scrums really.

Context. Pretty simple context too, honestly.

If PHI wants Kadri, Leafs could try to package the 8th and 17th for either edmonton's or Calgary's pick and try to draft their 1C. Not sure what reaction I expect from Flyers Fans.

Worse than the bad-decent prospect proposal? I think so.

Don't expect anything supplemental (including fine) from player safety on Crosby stick jab at Moore's groin or Lundqvist water bottle squirt

Is it just me, or is seeing those two incidents put in one sentence hilarious?

"I don't expect any supplemental discipline regarding Smith's double homicide or Jones' speeding ticket."

The water-bottle-as-weapon is certainly trending in the playoffs. Next thing we know, goalies will keep their PowerAde in Super Soakers. I think Lundqvist should get a nominal fine of about 2-3 the amount Thornton got. If I were the league, I'd send around an immediate note to all teams that any further unadvised hydration of the opposition will start costing misconducts.

It's also chuckle-worthy that the usual "I can't believe the Penguins are this dirty!" threads are arriving. Gee, where have we seen this before?

Does anyone else remember the response from several Penguins fans? That they were embarrassed and having serious trouble rooting for the Penguins? I wonder if any actually stopped being Pens fans.

Sometimes I wonder if my hatred of Neal and the Pens is over the top. Then I watch this video and realize that it's totally justified.

That particular game shows the Pens fans' bipolarity on so many levels. E.g. always when I look at that "fine Lundqvist for water spraying Crosby" I am thinking of the infamous Voracek glove incident. "Lundqvist is acting like a child and should be fined so no grown man acts like that again." Yet Crosby acted like a man when doing that thing with Voracek's glove, there must have been so many of them calling for a fine for Crosby.
