I'm with you on this one TD....I don't think he's faking, I've met him a few times and he doesn't come across as a faking type person to me.

But it's fair to say the slash he took cost the Habs a playoff series? Not only were your facts wrong....but does that not seem contradictory to you?

if it's unfair to say one player was the reason a team won a series, seems to me it's unfair to say one player was a reason a team lost a series.

Isn't there a character with an eye patch? Kovalev would look good with an eye patch.

TSN was reporting that Kovavlev's vertigo may be career threatening but now they have no record of it at all...

"Kovalev's vertigo was flu-related, but he says that is not the case. Kovalev sat out Tuesday's game against the Islanders."

It's Media-related.

Classy, taking pot shots at an injured player.......

FLQ meetigs? what the helllll are you talking about. I made NO mention that I want only francophones.
WHy I want a NON Russian is because I want the coaching staff to be clear to the players. Some of the Russian on the club can barely speak english and it's taking too long to adapt. You can have 1or 2 but thats about it. Prez,Kost,Markov are behind in their adaptation, Lets not add 2 more with the UFA's it's just too much.

If their is a choice between two equal players I would pick the north american player as a UFA and lets not forget the Habs prospects have even more unilingual russian comming that will need a spot in a few years.

Good point.

He's one of those people who is far easier to criticize than support. Amazing talent, mediocre results his entire career, except for stretches of brilliance.

Kovalev has been injured in some fashion or another since he joined this team. Elbow here, flu there, sore there and here.

When are we allowed to take pot shots at him?

what's with the hate for russian players from you??? just because samsonov didn't work out? how many francophones haven't worked out??? how many north americans??? I would bet its more than the russians.

I would take another russian player if the situation rose up because unlike some people on this board I dont think that all russians HAVE THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT PROCESS.

Samsonov didn't work out. Ok, doesn't mean all russians are devils from hell.

They say the symptoms of this specific case of vertigo mysteriously disappear as you get further from Montreal. Perhaps we could pay Kovy to play away games only?

Nah, if a player retires, his contract is up. That is why players send to the AHL like McGillis won't retire: they will earn the money untill they retire or untill their contract end. I learned that from Lance et Compte as a kid. ;-)

The same guy who takes several practices off a year cause he "feels wrong" or is "sore".

Bring out the sad faces if the guy retires for real. For now, I'm content with my not-so-quiet skepticism.
You obviously do not know Kovalev at all.

heard it on the Flyers board a few years ago when Hackett had to end his carrer because of vertigo.

But I just hope the Bell Centre crew is smart enough not to play that song next time he plays.
