He drove himself to practice, it can't be that bad. Sure it is scary, but it isn't the same as Jeff Hackett who couldn't even stand up at some points because of the dizziness and nausea.

"You're afraid to move your head because every time you move it happens to you," Kovalev said. "I spent a day not moving my head, just staring at a point on the wall."

Kovalev is such a character.

Take note that this is coming from Kovalev, not from a team doctor. The same guy who, when tapped by an opponent in the playoffs, suffered an instantaneous career ending injury, which was then healed minutes later after it cost the Habs their playoff run. The same guy who takes several practices off a year cause he "feels wrong" or is "sore".

Bring out the sad faces if the guy retires for real. For now, I'm content with my not-so-quiet skepticism.
We came back and won that series after trailing 3-1. Kovalev was one of the main reasons...

How can a habs fan no know that?

I can't believe the number of jerks in here who are actually hoping that Kovy is not only gone for the year, but will have to retire from this. What the he11 is wrong with you people? Disgusting.

Get well soon Kovy.

It has been career ending for some players...ask Jimmy Waite...not a significant player, but it happens.

Just because he's not scoring doesn't mean he doesn't create chances. He is a threat to the other team on every shift he plays when he is healthy, and we don't have many players like that on this team.

And it's also no reason to wish for someone's career to end.

Thank you Milou. You've saved me from making my usual self-degrading post. But you forgot the obligatory and gratuitous shot at McPhee.

How sad is it that it will probably take a career ending condition to shut up the media and the dumb ass blind followers to pony up a "mea culpa" regarding Kovalev.

The guy is a bit different. He is no Guy Lafleur. But, without a doubt he is the only Hab that creates something positive EVERYTIME he touches the puck. Those who say otherwise.... have to stop watching with their ears, and start using their eyes. An honest fan cares about the name on the front of the jersey, not on the back.

If we had a good powerplay all year, it is because of the tandem of Kovalev and Souray. Period. And without that powerplay.....

BTW, for all his critics, which Hab player would be a 1st line player on any other team in the NHL..... besides Kovy.

I am not a blind Kovalev lover... he has his invisible games, and is "Russian-typical" stoic, but the way he gets trashed here, at RDS, 110%, and the newspapers is just freaking pathetic.

I repeat "care about the name on the front of the jersey, not on the back."

Incidence and Prevalence
Vertigo is one of the most common health problems in adults. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), about 40% of people in the United States experience feeling dizzy at least once during their lifetime. Prevalence is slightly higher in women and increases with age.
A relation of mine has chronic vertigo. When it is active he cannot drive a car for a week or so until it subsides.

Not that I am the biggest Kovalev fan, but one thing he brings to the table that no other player does is DRAWING PENALTIES.

How many times have we seen him stickhandle his way around until an opposing defender is forced to hook him?

He may not be scoring that often, but his shiftiness, the fact that he's a real threat, and his drawing of penalties make him very valuable.

I only wish he would show up more often.
