I'm no cap expert but I'm pretty sure if a player is placed on long-term injury, their salary counts against the cap but the team is given cap relief (e.g. if you have a player with a $2m cap hit on LTI, you can spend $2m over the cap limit). I'm not sure if it's any different for players over/under 35 like I think Mogilny is, maybe someone else can help.

No. When a player is placed on LTIR, his salary is taken off the cap completly.

Clubs are not permitted to exceed the mamximum or drop below the minimum. But a team can exceed the cap to replace a player with a long-term injury (a minimum of 24 days and 10 games). When the injured player is reactivated, the team must get back under the cap.

management is privleged to use or not to use the media. they are allowed to choose what they will or will not share with the public.(they also can influence the spin of a story to their desire). you would think THEY ALSO HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO KEEP
MATTERS IN HOUSE.

articles regularly insinuate management is always correct. (and players just keep quiet)
