If the Wild had no other options, do you think Rolston could be a defenseman? I think he could log 25 minutes/game if he was moved (certainly not this year, but if Pouliot/Irmen/Volo/Shep surprise Lemaire next year). I'm not for the move if they don't have to, but my mainly do you guys think he COULD be effective as an NHL defenseman?

NO. He plays back there on the powerplay but that hardly is even remotely similar to logging 25 minutes as a regular d-man.

If that happens and Rolston absolutely has no spot upfront- I'd think he'd get traded, not become a d-man.

Ok, let's say there is an emergency- like when the Oilers had to dress Floyd Whitney...I suppose Rolston could play 1 game and not ebmarass himself too badly, but that would be it.

He doesn't look too sound when he has to play D in shorthanded situations. Plus you'd lose a lot of offense. I think Lemaire would find someone else to do the job.

Tom Brady could probably be a pretty decent defensive back in an emergency, but it wouldn't really be the best use of your personnel.

Jacques should leave these type of shenanigans to a professional like Brent Burns.
