A couple singles through the infield and an infield hit. Bleh.

I don't think they are much better on any day during the week, but Fri-Sun, they are like unbeatable.

Its an odd stat.

Yeah, whatever. I haven't liked him at all this year. A bunch of bloops and bad luck, he was still the guy pitching on top of the other slop I've seen.

He's been a lot better lately. Some of that probably has to do with Sandberg using him against RHP less. He's good when he's used correctly.

This team is terrible, please forfeit the other 110+ games.

The only thing I am really enjoying is watching Marlon Byrd hit. He's having a hell of a year. That feels weird to say because I wanted to punch Ruben in the dick when I heard they signed him.

http://pagesix.com/2014/05/21/disney...-commissioner/

Quote:
Candidates will be nominated by the MLB committee and then voted on by league owners, with 24 of 30 votes needed to get the job.

Sports Illustrated suggested this month that high-profile possibilities like Joe Torre, Bob Costas, George F. Will and Dick Ebersol are unrealistic because of their age or lack of interest in the gig. Other potential candidates include MLB execs such as COO Rob Manfred as well as Dodgers owner Stan Kasten and Phillies GM Rubén Amaro Jr.
Is this real life? How the hell is this guy going to be the commissioner of MLB.

I honestly haven't been paying attention to the whole thing at all so it was the first time heard/saw it.

Looking back on tonight's game, a rain-out would've been preferable. Hell, had it occurred later, an official game rain-out would've at least saved us from watching the incompetence that they continued to show after the game resumed. A 5 inning L is worth just as much as a regulation L.

Atrocious. Not just being no-hit, the entire game including pitching and defense.

A guy on the Sporting News ranked the GMs and put Amaro dead last. I kinda thought that as bad as he is, and as much as we pile on, perhaps there are others that we fail to recognize as being worse. Maybe someone with a more national perspective and a greater handle on baseball than the average fan would find at least 1 person worse. However, thus far this year, and specifically after a game like today, I can't argue.

Oh man, I had hoped to go a longer part of my fandom without seeing the Phils be no-hit. I made it 16 years. I guess it was bound to happen with how often no-hitters get thrown these days.

Not that it excuses the whole game but that umpire would've called Utley out during Beckett's no hitter if Beckett threw one at his face

The 3-1 pitch was a ball, but 3-2 was right down the middle.

I thought it was a little low but I agree it was a strike. The 3-1 pitch really got me irked.
