I am happy for Rob. I just hopes he gets to play. Strbak got hurt last night, but Bergevin is healthy. Also, add Jackman to the mix. At this stage of our season, Bergevin should probably be the seventh guy and play only if someone is injured. Here is how I would like to see the pairings:

Tarnstrom Jackman
Orpik Scuderi
Melichar Focht

I don't think Jackman should be paried with Tarnstrom. He is very slow, with limited offensive potential. Definately wouldn't want to see him with Focht, becase they would be getting beat on breakaways left and right by speedsters. Might be a good partner for Melichar since Melichar is sound positionally and could make sure that Jackmans speed isn't taken advantage of. I still think Jackman is a Jamie Pushor clone (see post from 3 or 4 days ago in TR forum). Remember, Pushor was a legitimate 5/6 guy for quite a few years before coming to Pittsburgh.

I think Ross L will come up bofore the year is out too. Both him and Scuderi are out of options for next year, and both would be claimed on waivers by someone if they are sent down. I think the Pens are going to take a look at a lot of kids before the year is up to see where they stand.

Congrats to Scuderi. He pretty much steps right in and is one of the best three d-men on the roster. Hopefully he plays well.

I'm glad he got called up. He was first on my list to see what he could do.

Rob Scuderi (and Patrick Boileau as well, to be fair) has been the only defensman in Wilkes-Barre who has not made mind numbingly bad turnovers and mistakes. It never really dawned on me that he'd get the call, but now that he has, it makes perfect sense.

Actually, I think he plays a game similar to Strbak. More than capable in his own end, good passer, and an ok shot (even though his goal totals don't reflect this, but his goal this year was a beauty).

Scuds just plays a simple game. Steady is about right, nothing too flashy.

He's a player Edzo will like, I think. A guy who does the simple things and is a smart player.

I don't think he'll be sent down.

From what i have read on Jackman he doesn't have limited offensive potential. That was his strength.

I too, wanted to see what he can do for the team.
However I think this is a look see and he will not remain with the club the entire year.

He was making a lot of mistakes in preseason, hopefully he just settles down.

With this, and the Berehowsky and Buckley trades, it's obvious that our management sees room for improvement on the blueline.

It's not his shot or stickhandling that limits his offense from what I've seen or read, but his speed. It keeps him out of the rush, basically nullifying him on breakouts....again, this is only what I have seen and read. It also makes him a liability getting back.

I thought he played well. He didn't play often, and I think that's what's best for a guy of his style. He really made smart decisions with the puck the few times he was maybe in a precarious position.
