Skate Depth and Lace Bite (Inline)

Hey everyone,

Just trying to get some experienced advice here, either from someone who has dealt with this problem or knows what I can do. Here's the deal: I have a pair of Reebok 7k's, I really really like them, there is one problem, I get horrible lace bite on my left skate. They don't even come close to passing the pencil test, you can see my foot from the side profile. I also have pretty high arches. I've ordered the CCM high arch beds, and some lace bite pads (the ones that look like the letter H). Other than getting new skates, is there anything else I can do? The bite is bad enough that it affects my skating and I'm pretty bruised. If the only thing is to get new skates, which are known for their depth?

Thanks a bunch,

Man that's tough. If your foot is jutting out that much as you say there isn't much you could do. Should probably see if the two products help at all, and experiment with some alternate lacing techniques. At the same time, you should realize that you probably want to let your foot heal some first.

Reeboks are shallow boots naturally, I would look at perhaps a Bauer Supreme/Nexus or CCM RBZ/Tacks (out in July).
