Conflict of Interest

Who do we cheer for tomorrow night, Tampa or the Islanders?

Tampa wins: pushes NYI further out of the playoff race and helps NYR's overall playoff chances.

Islanders win: good shot at moving into sixth place wednesday night, 6th place means no devils, sabres, pens or sens in the first round!

As long as it's not a 3 pointer....

So long as it isn't a BS 3 point game...I don't even care. We gotta play the Isles two more times anyway, so it's up to us if we wanna finish ahead of them or not. So I guess let them win tomorrow night.

I'm leaning towards Tampa...the Isles have several games in hand, and while they're not playing great, they could still step it up over the last 10 games or so.

There's still time to run down Tampa, so I'd rather the Rangers be sitting more securely in a playoff spot

Tampa... the Rangers are in the playoffs right now, therefore they need to worry about the teams below them more than the teams above them.

Yeah, Tampa. I don't like the Isles having 2 games at at hand on us at all. At least we'd have one on the lightning if they win.

we're in as it is right now, so you gotta cheer against the guys who are chasing you. Isles have 2 games in hand, with plenty of games left in the season. i'm fine with Tamp increasing their lead on us...

Tampa. After the fishstick Tampa plays NJD and Ottawa, so we could hope they lose those two as the Devils and Sens are too far out of reach. Then the Iles will be stuck in 8th, with our next games being very winnable vs. Philly and Boston. Then next week we get a shot at the Iles. So in short, we want Tampa to win. We're in the playoffs, lets stay there.

Better safe than sorry later on. Obviously not within our control, but Tampa winning will be a much better outcome imo

Going with TB.

You want to create space from the teams behind you, overtaking TB is just icing on the cake. TB wins you have better odds of at least getting into the playoffs, Islanders win and it increases your odds of ending up with a big pile of nothing.

Agreed. We aren't in a position to hope the fishsticks win. With DP now practicing they are a huge threat, and we need them to lose as much as possible until he returns.
